Which Plow to Purchase

I've located two plows that trip my trigger. I would appreciate your advice on these two plows.

F120 4-bottom. This is a fully mounted plow.

or

F145H 3-bottom. Semi-integral plow.

Both are very nice & in original condition. Which one would you choose. The F145 plow is $50 more. My tractor is a 2520.

I personally like hte F145 semi. Semi is easier to control and plow even over fully mounted. Less radical dead furrows etc and more even depth when the field isn't perfectly flat. We have a mounted and use it for small stuff but borrow my uncles 145 semi for "real" work when we plow.

Definately the 3 bottom semi mounted. Like others have said, if the field is a bit rough, when the front tires go down, the plow will go up and the pattern will be repeated in the next row. A semi mount will be easy to use and easier to learn with. Most importantly, 4 bottoms is too big for a 2520. Devin

I have a 2520; I've never hooked it to a moldboard plow but, like the others, I think the 3 semi-mount would be the plow for you.

The 3 would be about right for size and the semi-mounted plows were easier on the tractor and operator. Good luck!

It is 60 hp. I'll go with the 3-bottom. I've plowed gardens for several years with a mounted 2-bottom plow. But I can see the advantage of a semi-mounted plow.

Thanks for all of the advice!!

A F145 3-16's and a 2510 is a beautiful thing. A 2520 is even better. Paul

I have some 53.66 HP (JD 720 D) and I plow in third gear with 4x16" F-145 Semi..

60 HP should at least pull 4x14" semi-mounted...
I always pulled 4x14" semi with my WD-45 and still have it..
That WD-45 is what....45 HP..?
2nd Gear Always...!!

I guess I should add this...
Maybe you could find a 4x16" Semi and drop one bottom..??
I would advise that, since the 16" has more clearance for trash and covers almost as much as 4x14"..
Once you get the outfit settled-in, cut the excess square beam off...
I happen to have an extra 4x16 F-145 here....
