The recent poll on favorite beers got me to wondering: What's the worst beer you've ever had?
I've tried hundreds of beers, including Stella, the national beer of Egypt (not to be confused with the Belgian Stella Artois) and Old Frothingslosh ("the pale, stale ale with the foam at the bottom"). But the worst beer I've ever had was Buckhorn, a vile concoction sold in the early eighties in Texas. This stuff was so bad it made awful beers like Pearl, Lone Star and Falstaff seem like premium beers in comparison. As I recall it sold for a buck-fifty a six pack. I bought one six pack, drank one bottle and gave the rest away.
