Worthless project

looks like the gentleman was doing a good job of clean up and paint, I think you are the benefactor of an old deceased tractor guy. Bring it back to life for the family. Send them a picture and thank them for the opportunity. OR Not gobble

nice find! should be a good tractor when you are done. sometimes you get a good deal, sometimes you get a lemon. got a 240utility some years ago for 300. was a good runner, came with a woods cadet 5 ft brush mower and a rear blade. owner just wanted it gone. still use the tractor, got 3 pt prongs for it and use it on the tiller. had a buddy of mine give me a fergie to 20. his friend got it as a project tractor, first thing, new tires. then found out the trans was bad. john got it and the hup hi low was shot so he put a used trans in it. couldnt get it running, gave it to me. i finally got it going, new pto shaft, new drawbar asem. new alternator. new radiator, then it dropped a valve. all the guides were shot, head had cracks. 900 to the machine shop. now it has low oil pressure and the temp overheats after about half hours work. i put electric cooling fans on. sheesh. sad part is the tractor is a blast to drive! prolly only need to throw a couple more grand at it!

Hi grandpa Love. I have no wisdom for you so no gold either. Looks like a great project for you given your experience rebuilding and restoring all those cubs. If you get enjoyment out of it and happen to make some money if and when you sell it I dont see a problem with that. I was given three tractors this winter for free and one is already running great. I wont loose any sleep if I decide to sell one or all of them regardless of what some will say. Please post pictures of the progress and the finished job. Have fun with it.
