How is the blade raised and lowered?Almost any color is nice. As long as it doesn't represent another make. Rust is nice too. I painted the 8n in what I think looks nice. Not correct but kind of goes with the age. I didn't mind the rusty look. A buddy of mine who grew up working in his dad's body shop insisted we paint it up once it was running good. I think it's nice, wrong color but at least it isn't orange or green.![]()
Hesston? I'm sure they call it some kind of red, but it looks brown to me.Any brown tractors? Don’t recall seeing
If I'm buying the paint, I'm buying the color I like.I can't understand why someone would go through all the cost and labor to paint a tractor some off beat color or another brand color. Some are really good paint jobs. If you want a JD buy one. Same with the rest. Sometimes the paint scheme may have a personal meaning. I get that. When I painted my wife's Allis C she asked if it could be pink. Nope but I did have pink decals made the say "Sandi's C" and put it on the hood. But in all honesty I do believe if it is your tractor you can do as you please but don't expect the value to go up. In my opinion the value decreases.
Never saw a black oneI bought this 550 Cockshutt like this and think it definitely looks sharpView attachment 107858
Moline had a jet star it was all brown early 1960's.Any brown tractors? Don’t recall seeing
It uses the 3 point with cables. The whole thing is my take of the dearborn design (with some improvements, at least in my mind, haha.) The cables attach to the 3 point arms, run under the drawbar mount with a bar and pulleys then up to the front with two more pulleys on the plow frame and then attach to the top of the front guides. This alllows the plow to raise 18". The frame attaches to the stabilizer anchors under the rear axle. The plow itself is a modified gravely walk behind dozer blade. How is the blade raised and lowered?
That's what I said. Your tractor your choice. Didn't mean to offend anyone. If I'm buying the paint, I'm buying the color I like.

I use to paint cars, trucks and tractors. before I retired. This one is a Ferguson TO 20. It should be all grey. The owner wanted it painted the way it is. I think it looksView attachment 107865 better this way than all grey
Guess maybe some wouldn't like this.
Well ....I LOVE IH Red.....but if you take one of these to a tractor show with 25-30 red tractors , guess what everyone will remember and talk about ( especially the kids)
Ya, I have three of these and the all gray doesn't do much for me, just having the starter/distributor/generator painted chassis black I think helps a lot, adding a bit of depth and interest.
