So I’m working on taking apart my 1945 John Deere Model A, but I have a question how do you properly remove the connecting rod bearing from the connecting rod and cap without damaging the connecting rod?

You have posted your question in the "profile" section of this site where very few people will see it, I dunno why this option even exists.

You need to surf over the the DEERE Board, https://forums.yesterdaystractors.com/forums/john-deere.18/ and ask your question.

That being said, does your tractor of babbited rods, or rods with a "precision insert"?

I have a Ford 1952 8N, 6V, side distributor that I was using with a bush hog. After cutting most of my grass, it stopped and couldn’t get it to crank/turn over..

checked the fuel tank, bowl, & carb. Rebuilt carb and tried a new carb. Tractor is getting fuel but no spark/tractor won’t turn over. So I moved to the ignition side.Firstly, checked/charged up my battery to where it showed 7V. Next checked/replaced the starter solenoid, got good voltage to the ignition button, and checked/replaced the ignition coil. Still won’t turn over.

Finally, just to see if I have some spark on the tractor, we attempted to jump it off. It immediately turned over/cranked however the moment I take my thumb off the ignition button, it dies. At a loss on where to go next.

I got a powerstar 75 1 and 1/2 years old, my loader quivers lots of times lifting and lowering, been doing it since I got it and seems to be getting a little worse. I added 1 quart of fluid and will see if that helps. dip stick shows full but I'm going to try adding small amounts. I'm planning a fisit to the dealer before the warranty runs out. Is yours still acting up?

that generator in the picture is 12 volt. Tractor was 6 volt from the factory in 1957. The secret to a 6 volt system is large battery cables double 00 is best to use, make sure all contacts are clean and bright. Install a good 6 volt generator, voltage regulator and a new 6 volt battery. Have the starter rebuilt by a good rebuilder to 6 volt spects.

I'm needing more of this type of bracket for my clamp on duals. I can't seem to find any anywhere. Anybody have any ideas? Your time and info is appreciated.

Question if you don't mind... you seem well versed on these old 580s... my manual says to use TCH (11 gallons) in the hydraulics for loader and Hoe... you think that is necessary or just regular hydraulics? I doubt she has TCH in her now, and nothing has been done with her since her previous owner quit using her 4 years ago. Thanks

have 310k backhoe park brake wont releace will start front bucket and rear bucket will move have checked power at park brake switch have power in and out tested power at park brake solinoid have no power there put jumper in at pres.switch nothing happend it acts like i have no charge pres.from forward to reverser drive shaft will not move have put 12 volts to park brake coil not sure what is going on

I understand you have a parts list for the Cabs 1635 938. Does it have the cab parts as well? I need a blow up of the part to see how they should align! Thanks!

I have a NH 848 round baler that is new to me this year and I’ll start making good bales and then bam all of a sudden I will plug up , I’m in first gear with the rev up and I must of flipped out 9 times today lol the hays been laying for a week cause I had tractor issues and now today Ill make a bale and next one plug up what am you doing wrong

I use a 848, I’ve found that starting a bale usually requires bringing my tractor down almost to a idle and creeping along until the bale has formed a core and started to register on the fill gauge. The dryer the hay gets the tougher it can be to get it to start a bale but I also bale mostly grass. I always run my bale tension air bags at the max psi (I believe 40) and that seems to help with starting a bale.

Depends on if you have a true 12 volt coil. Some coils say 12 external resister needed and others say 12 volt coil no resister needed
