    Stuck JD B

I've seen the B backfire many times over the years, so I have doubts that the 300 or 400 lbs. of torque I could have put (it took much less)on the crankshaft would do any harm to it. The advice on this forum seemed to run 50/50 on whether or not to tear down the B or just run it. So I went...

    Stuck JD B

2 months ago I purchased the 1944 B, that Dad had purchased new, from my Brother"s widow. It"s a little rusty and the engine is stuck. I looked on this forum and found a few good suggestions to get the engine unstuck. Perhaps someone will find how I unstuck the engine useful. I made no progress...

    2010 JD transmission problem

My range change lever on the side of the transmission won't go into the low range. I've disconnected all the linkage and have confirmed the problem isn't in the shifting cluster in the dash. Tractor is old and high hours. What can I look for from the top? I'm not sure the tractor is worth...

    John Deere 2010C

Very nice, straight, 2010 you have there. I"m almost positive 2020 engine will not bolt in. I"ve heard there is a combine engine that does. Search the message board at jdcrawlers.com. There are some posts there about the combine engine. B.

    John Deere 2010 crawler

I"ve been told that on 2010 crawlers with serial numbers below 42000, the number is on the right front of the engine. On crawlers 42000+, the serial number is on the left bellhousing. My 2010 crawler (42xxx) has the serial number on the bellhousing. B.

    Haybine question

Does anyone know what horsepower tractor you need to run a gehl 2170 haybine? I have a Ford 1920 with 28.5 PTO horsepower and didn"t know if this would handle it ok.

    Massey 135 Lift

I posted several weeks ago about my lift problems on my 135 and I removed the lift cover to find the pin on the position control arm was broke off, I have fixed that problem. The return spring for the position control arm was in the bottom of the tractor when i took it apart and I can't tell...

    Oliver Disk Value

I was wondering what the value of a rough Oliver disk would be. I believe it is a 261. It is a 12 foot base with 2 foot manual fold wings for a total of 14 feet overall. It doesnt have a cylinder, the berrings on the gangs are froze, the blades are worn pretty bad and a couple need replaced...

    Removing Link in Track Chain

I ran out of adjustment on my crawler and took a link out on each side. Worst decision I ever made. It accelerated the wear on the pins, bushings, and sprockets by 10 times. Within a few months the bushings were worn through (no holes before taking the link out)and the sprockets were all but...

    Track tension

Carefully measure the width of the tracks front and rear and compare. Also make sure your tracks are parallel. Measure to the frame front and rear on both sides and compare. Run your crawler forward for 10 or 20 feet and let it coast to a stop. Look through the tracks at your front idlers and...

    JD Winch compatibility

I have a 1963 2010 crawler with a (dead) Series 20 winch. According to the book, a Model 3325 will bolt on. I found a 3305 on a 440 skidder that is quite a drive away so I haven't looked at it yet. Does anyone know what the difference is? What would it take to put it on the back of my 2010...

    john deere 450crawler

I've always wondered what the consequences would be of putting a heavier oil in the transmissions/hydraulic systems of older worn equipment. Somebody try it and let me know. B.
