    300 U hydraulic DEAD ?

    oh yeah I had forgotten about that !!! what a ROYAL P.I.T.A. to pull that and check it. My fluid is not milky just like creamed coffee. There should be no crap in the system ( from where?), I have pulled it and cleaned it twice. Can that screen be back flushed with air pressure?

    all you need is an anchor for the top link. I have the top part on the machine - rock shaft ? for toplink hookup. All the equipment have toplink hitch point as well. so I think I'm good to go is this maybe better? its cheaper

    Cub149 -- YES That is similar to what I was thinking about making/modifying. I was thinking of a bolt across the top to close the hole. I can weld one up. Great minds think alike. Anyplace I could buy something like those?

    thanks D Red. I think the whole "fast hitch" thing is a myth. Mt two bottom plow will "fast hitch" if all is on hard dead level ground. Otherwise it don't line up and requires a couple trips on and off the machine to get it on. Same with the 2pt adpt prongs. Unless in the sockets they flop...

    On my 300 U I have the 2pt fast hitch.and the 3pt conversion for top link. I have a couple sets of 3pt adapters that go in the 2pt sockets. Problem is the the 2pt "Y" frame is rigid and will not allow flex to hook up 3pt stuff. For example a simple flat draw bar can't be mounted unless I pull...

    IH backhoe 3444 ?'s

    got this last fall, got it running.now it wont fire. pulled all 4 plugs (3 different kinds) and were badly fouled and loaded with crude. Does anybody know whaty is the correct plug for this machine? gas 3444 ( I think ). Also need a operators manuals etc. Any advice on that issue? thanks in...

    what is this?

    I assume it uses the tractor hydraulic to lift, then stick the block thing in. Lots of parts missing I think. Also think there is about zero chacne of finding missing parts - maybe make them?

    M stuck engine

    OK update -tractor lives outdoors, has rain cap on muffler, plastic jug most time. Tranny starter all fine. I generally use hand crank -engine is stuck. Engine is tight-rebuilt in mid '80's at ag school from crank out. Probably not 300 hours since. I will look for a bore scope, should do...

    sediment bowl fix

    OK to clarify, the glass bowl is held in/up/snug by a pot metal finger tight nut in a bail. These seem to strip out so leakage occurs. I was told it is a proprietary thread so can't be cobbled with a brass nut,etc. The gasket on the top of the bowl is the standard screen that fits in the...
