    TO 30 Battery Cables

Has anyone found a source for properly made (correct guage, length) batt cables for a 6 volt TO 30? I have been having intermittent starting issues-- weak spark at distributer, but 6.3 volts and I'm assuming low amps... I have clean and tight connections, but she's still a hard starter...

    I think I've had it

Jason-- I feel your pain. I married a horse woman also, and it has cost us more money (not to mention blood, sweat {usually mine} and tears {usually hers} than I care to think about. At one point we had 8 of the damn things. I'm a bit of a softie when it comes to animals, and you can't beat...

    radiator hose problem TO30

I bush hogged for about 3 hrs, took a break and started again-- and noticed my radiator hose had collapsed. At no time did the tractor overheat-- I keep a close eye on my guages. I replaced the radiator and hose about 6 months ago and haven't had an issue since. Is this possibly a cheap hose,low...

Anyone in Charlottesville/ Richmond VA area...

My wife and 3 year old daughter and I are looking to relocate to the Charlottesville or Richmond area in the next 6 to 8 months, and I was wondering about the state of the local economy, good places to look for a small 10-12 acre farm (horses), places to avoid, etc. I am a home automation/ low...

    Leaking Loaded Tires

I have a '52 TO 30 with loaded rear tires that are unfortunately starting to corrode. One has surface rust and a very slight leak around the valve stem. I'm probably grasping at straws here, but does anyone have a temporary fix that will buy me some time before I have to buy new rims? Thanks...

TO 30 parts tractor/ finish mower

I found a parts tractor about 1 1/2 hours drive away, but the owner is not sure of the year-- are all TO30 parts interchangeable regardless of year? The rear tires on my TO30 are loaded and beginning to deteriorate the wheels, so I would like to replace them soon. Also-- can anyone recommend a...

    IH Cub

I"m usually on the Ferguson Discussion, but I need some advice. I"m looking in to buying a 1970 IH cub with a belly mower to mow 4 acres of lawn. Asking price $1500, seems to be in good shape. Would I be better off with a PTO driven finish mower? I"ve always liked the older Cubs, but I don"t...

Thanks JerryMT and Jeff-oh, a few more TO30 questions...

Thanks for your help from my previous post-- the tstat had failed and the radiator was definitely shot. After installing the new (Chinese) radiator, I had to make some modifications to the fan shroud etc. but got it on there. When I went to replace the hood, it would not sit as well as it used...

    TO30 radiator

I need to replace the radiator in my 52 TO30, and when I removed the old one only about 5 gallons of coolant drained out-- the radiator had a substantial crack, so I am assuming the rest had boiled off(?). What is the best way to flush the cooling system out? The tractor has always run a little...

    no spark

Thanks Fred-- I checked the ignition switch, and the battery is only a few months old... and I do have voltage at the condenser, but until I grab my multimeter tomorrow I am somewhat limited, but I am looking for the next place to start troubleshooting (or more likely what I have overlooked)...

    no spark

I started my 52 TO30 for the first time in 4 weeks today and it ran fine for 15 minutes and then quit-- almost like it ran out of gas. I checked the carb-- plenty of fuel flowing out of the drain. I checked a few spark plugs; they looked good but weren't wet with gas after turning the engine...
