    enough tractor?

I am using an Allis D14 on a 6' rotary mower in heavy (2' tall) grass/weeds and the thing has a hard time mowing it. Is there something wrong with my D14 or is it just not enough tractor for this? What do you all think? Thanks.

    splitting stands for 4010

I bolt on 2x4s about the right length, then use floor jacks to support and roll apart the halfs, then lower onto 2x4s. 2 per half will hold it.

    Did you set the timing?

    D14 clutch sticking

That 3" hole under the tractor someone mentioned being on Bs & Cs is also on D14s. Pry the cap off (its just on there with clips) and look up in there. Have someone work the pedal while you're looking and see what is moving and is not moving. I split mine to replace some clutch fingers. Used...

    FYI starter info

Tried to start my D-14 a while ago - click. Tried again - click. Sounded like a low battery just making the solenoid click. But the solenoid was getting HOT. So I checked for voltage when it clicked (closed the starter current path)and the meter would jump to 11 odd volts. So, I had 11 volts...

    D-17 won't start

Hey man, I take my dog out for a walk and he still poops on the floor when I return. Just because you charge that thing don't mean its workin good. Did it spin the engine over good again after it quit? If so, then it IS OK and you can ignore my dumb analogy above :)

    New India made 5003 series

So what does everyone think of the new 5003 series tractors made in India? Are they worth buying? I noticed all models are the same size and weight, just more HP as you go up. This seems odd - I'd want more weight as my HP went up. I also wonder if the factory that makes them is making other...

    tachometer/operation meter

OK, I got one of those $85. new reproduction tach/operation meters off e-bay for my D14. I finally got it installed and my drive cable fixed. The tach works fine! I am still befuddled why all of a sudden these cheap new repro. tachs showed up. No marks of origin of manufacture or any sort of...

    Help with D14 throttle

Hi all, Having trouble figuring out why on my D14 when, from idle, I move the throttle lever very slightly I get a huge rpm jump almost to full throttle. if I tap the lever back up gently, I can get it to change speeds in between idle and full open but it is very touchy. The thing used to...

    new operation meters?

What's the deal with the $89. operation (tach) meters for sale on e-bay? Why all of a sudden can these be had for the old D14s, 15s, 17s for a relatively cheap price? I got one (not installed yet) and there is NO marking of where or by whom it is made. Not long ago one had to pay around 300...

    Ranch King throwing belt

Hi all, Have an older Ranch King from TSC. It mows for a while but then starts throwing the belt off periodically. I can find no adjustment for belt tension on it. It appears to be tight enough anyway. All parts are there and in place. Any thoughts????

Wouldn't it be cheaper just to pull a hayrack and put that young man on the rack loading the bales?

knee high by the 4th of july ??

Its that black illinois dirt! I grew up in Ogle county 100 miles west of Chicago and now live in north central Ohio. What a transformation I see as I drive between the 2 places. Ohio has brown clay and it gradually gets better and blacker as I head west toward the Mississippi.

    leaded gas old tractors

FYI: Have a JD3020. Got it used. Started but would always run on 3 for a half minute. Put that Lead Supreme (now Octane Supreme) 130 in my gas since I had it. After a couple tanks through it now, no more starting on 3. Starts on all 4 now. Lead lubricating old valves & making them work...

    LT 133

All LT133s had sealed rear ends with grease in them. There is also a filter in there but you have to take the case apart to get to it.
