    4020 POWER SHIFT

Just find the back half of a pre 69 synchro 4020 and it should bolt right up. I had an uncle that did this to a 3020. He had a synchro transmission that was wore out and I had a 3020 powershift with a bad engine. Gave it to him and they just split the two and put the powershift on his. These...

    4250 load shaft seals

I replaced them when I bought the tractor probably 7 or 8 years ago and evidently the two seals I used were different but I know i bought them at deere. Im going to change shaft this time as well. Jim did you get your seals at deere? I'm going to check a&I as well.

    4250 load shaft seals

Load shaft started leaking and pulled it apart and it looked like one seal basically melted on the side that was leaking. It's like it just deteriorated. The other side was still good and is a totally different seal. The one that leaked is green and the new ones from deere are green and seem...

    1969 4020 injection pump conversion.

Just did my dad's a few months back. He got the rod from deere and it didn't fit worth a darn from what I remember. I believe I ended up tweaking it and I also had to make the hole bigger on the tractor where the rod goes through to the pump. I'll try and get a measurement tomorrow and pics...

    Engine swap on 4630

So I can use either balancer set up as long as I use the corresponding water pump basically. I wasn't sure if the balancers were set up to match the flywheels or how that worked.

    Engine swap on 4630

Bought an engine that was in an 8430 and planning on putting it in a 4630. I know I need to use the 4630 flywheel but do I also use the balancer off of the 4630 or use the 8430 one? Thanks

    4630 quad range question

Ok, that's what I was thinking nothing went there but I know me and I just wanted to be sure. Thank y'all both for the replies. It's greatly appreciated!

    4630 quad range question

Slowly getting this tractor back together but have a question. I've got the 2spd and pto gear installed and now the pto and transmission clutch operating assembly goes in. My question is that is there any kind of washer that goes in between the 2spd and the assembly where the pto drive gear...

    4240 cab on 4630

Yes sir, the whole front clolumn stays and from what I remember looking at a bunch of cabs at a salvage yard im almost positive all the hydraulic lines were always located in the same locations on later 30 series and all 40 series cabs. Thank y'all for the input.

    4240 cab on 4630

I'm with you on the linkage. I'd imagine the 46's transmission linkages are longer. I just wasn't sure on all the hydraulic lines for steering. I've already bought a cab off a 75 model 4630 but it needs a bunch of work on the roof but it's rust free and fenders are perfect. Didn't know if...

    4240 cab on 4630

Working on a 77 model 4630 with quad. My cab is rusted out and beyond repair and was curious to know if a cab off a 82 model 4240 quad would fit without any major modifications. I would think it wouldn't be a big deal other than tapping into hydraulics for the seat but my ideas never...

    3020 front hydraulic pump

Working on a 3020 trying to get it going after sitting up about 3 or 4 years. Finally got it to start and water pump was leaking. So took pump drive coupler off to change belt while doing water pump. Tried to spin hydraulic pump by hand to change the bolts and bushings in coupler and pump...

    JD 567 baler question

I had the same problem as you but on a 566. It would bale 10 bales or so then the net wouldn't cut. My knife wouldn't return to home position. I checked all my connections and checked voltage at my actuator. Even borrowed another monitor and tried it with same results. I went to John Deere...
