    front ends

Ford made a solid pedestal and one that was removable to adapt a wide front end. I have a 740 with a solid one that the gears are worn out and an extra wide one out of an 800 that seems to be tighter. My question is are they interchangable. If the answeris yes it would save me the time it would...

    rake

goose is correct, part of the the rake is missing their should be a bar going from the foot peddle over to the sproket with a hook that when is engaged dumps the hay mine has a lever that comes up when you step on the peddle and is used as an assist.

Replacing the push button starter switch on a Ford 640?

Make sure you put a thin o-ring or gasket on the bottom between the washer and the the cover if you don't it will leak.

    Incomplete tractors, supposedly restored.

Are we having fun yet? I've got tractors (8) that only 2 are authenic and at shows I let everybody know which is which. For example I take the battery clamps off and bolt a horse shoe on the side to hold the battery in place,( with a crome bolt of course).

    6volt to 12 volt conversion

Is it ok to shoot 12 volts into points made for a 6 volt system without a resistor someplace? Or are all points the same. I had a tractor that was coverted to 12 volts be fore I got it and kept burning the points put in a resister and they last longer.
