    How is it possible for this U-shaped things to get in the wrong position? I got this problem yesterday on my Case 1690. I hope it is a simple problem.. My problem is that gear 2 is stuck. I can drive forward with gear 2 and everything else works, but I can not shift gears.

    Ok, thanks! The backlash in inch should be 0,007-0,009 inch. That the same as 0,18-0,23mm. 1 inch = 25,4 mm.

    Do you mean nine thousands of 1 inch, or 0.009mm? The manual says: Put a 6 inch screwdriver in the differential cage, and turn the adjuster to the point there the weight of the screwdriver will just begin to move the ring gear down.

    Is the rear gear working? Is the transmission oil pressure normal on the meter on the dashboard when you press the pedal down? I had this problem when the C4 clutch was broken.

    What kind of loctite should I use? Have you used loctite on connecting rods? And if I clean them, and install them without using oil, will that affect what torque moment I should use?

    The shop manaul says new nuts. But shop manuals are used to say so about alot of things. New nuts will cost about 240 dollar. And as I know almost no one uses new nuts.

    Can I reuse the self locking nuts for the connecting rods? New ones are VERY expensive. Would it be a good Idea to press the locking parts down on both sides before reuse so that they would lock better then they are reinstalled?
