Going to a flatback on John Deere A

Thanks! Sounds pretty good since I weigh around 4400 with 12.4's. I've been looking at lightweight wheel options but I run wheel weights so the light spokes are out of the question.

Going to a flatback on John Deere A

Good morning guys, Just wondering if anyone had an idea on how much weight I'll lose if I remove the rear hydraulic and pto housing on a JD A. I already have the powerlift box off. I'm going to remove the rest of the cover and replace with a A570R and block the pto off. Its a '46 JD A all fuel...

    Worth switching to 13.6

I?m thinking a healthy A should be able to spin out in low gear. Mine is mildly built. I do know the A I copied when building mine has no trouble spinning out 14.9 ?s up to 6000 pound class. I more worried about weight if I switch to 15.5, got around 100 pounds to play with. I

    Worth switching to 13.6

Hi everyone, I?m almost done with my first year of pulling with my JD A. Runs great but I?m hurting for traction. I pull 4500-5500 and have spun out at every pull. I currently am running 12.4x38 on 10? wheels. I?m going to put 12? wheels on this winter but am wondering how much better the 13.6...

    1946 John Deere a

Lastv year I actually replaced the cracked head that was on the tractor and didn?t think about changing it the newer head. Lesson learned I guess. I was looking to get 45hp and it seems like I?ll be close due to what your saying. I figure if and when I decide I need more I will jump up to an...

    3020 gas

Thanks for the info, I have a rollomatic triciycle. I had the engine completely rebuilt when this was my primary hay tractor. I now rely on my diesel and am going to make this a play tractor. So far all that I've done is replace the oil bath air filter with a K&N and added a spring or two to the...

    3020 gas

Hello everybody, I"ve been pulling a JD 3020 gas for the last 5 years or so and have been pretty competitive in the 7500 and 9000 pound class with a fresh stock engine. I would like to keep the bottom of the engine stock, since all of the parts are new anyways, but I want to have something done...

    350B wont run

Hi guys, thanks for the info. I changed the primer pump and changed the oil. It still won't run for long but the fuel isn't going in the oil. There seems to be air in the filters every time I check. I'm not sure if its just air from having everything apart or something else. Anyways I'll have to...
