    Super 55 Hydraulic fluid

Hummm, there is an aftermarket seat that would make the stand pipe idea tough. I'd have to switch seats also. Please explain what this has to do with my foamy oil. Is the oil whipped? Or is there water from condensation in the oil, or a little of both.

    Super 55 Hydraulic fluid

Hi, thanks for the reply. I don't have serial number handy, but I can say it is an early type, no stand pipe, six quarts fills it. Also, just to note, I plow with a back blade, so I'm not using any remote attachments, just the three point.

    Super 55 Hydraulic fluid

Every fall I change the fluid in the hydraulics and I get quite a bit of foamy oil. I store the tractor under a roof so it doesn't get rained on. We use it to plow snow in the winter and for odd projects around the house during the summer. It really doesn't get much use. why do you...

    Allis C

the more I think about it, the more I think this was our problem. I'm thinking we need to mount the pressure plate and then back off the adjustment bolts to get the fingers to proper specs. this would allow the fingers to contact the throwout bearing much sooner and release the clutch before...

We already had to swap the old pressure plate for the new one for the core charge. good thought though. Also the new fingers looked a little different so I don't know If we'd want to mix and match. thanks for the reply.

    Model C clutch installation

Hi I'm doing the same job. Is it necessary to adjust the new pressure plates or do they come pre-adjusted?

thanks for the reply Bob. I'm starting to think maybe we were supposed to back out the adjustment bolts out of the pressure plate once the plate and disk are installed. There didn't seem to be much travel in the pressure plate fingers, but then again we're newbee's. And yes there is a stop on...

Thanks for the reply. We were thinking the same as well, however the theads on the rod looked unblemished, while the arm the rod theads into was dinged and was clearly the part that made contact with the pressure plate.

Does the pressure plate need to be adjusted or does it just go in as is. I noticed the factory put paint on the bolts in the fingers. Is that a warrenty thing?? Help....

    Allis C

having trouble with the clutch on my C. It wouldn't shift so upon futher investigation, looking though the access hole on the bottom of the bell housing, I saw broken parts. We split the tractor to find that one of the fingers on the pressure plate had broken off and was shot. So we...

    Super 55 hydrolic/3 point question

In the cold weather, the three point on our tractor doesn't want to go up. Once it run for a while it works ok, but is slow to raise. the fluid appears to be okay, not milky, but is most likely quite old. Is this just normal for this old tractor? Is it bad to operate it this way? If...

    550 running again

Good to hear!! I just got my super 55 up and running after sitting for 5 years because the governor had stripped. Got it up and running last week after replacing the governor gear assembly. I also converted to 12 volts and did a full tune up. These little Olivers are great tractors.

    Super 55 Carb question

When you say put a load on the motor, do you mean running something off the PTO or just idling at a higher RPM. Thanks
