    52 8n axle nut

I did not remove the wire keeper. It looked like two nuts seperated by 1/2 circle keeper. I was trying to remove the "outside" nut 1st and then remove the keeper....As you can tell, I'm really new at the 8n stuff....learned a gang of things, thanks to folks like you willing to share their...

    52 8n axle nut

Keeper? There is a channel on the axle but i dont see any key on either channel. I think I saw a picture of what looks like a 1/2 wire loop that sits between the outer and inner axle nut...it looks like there are two nuts separated by the 1/2 wire loop....could it be one nut and the wire loop is...

    52 8n axle nut

Any trick to removing the rear axle nut? I've got a 7/8 drive with a 2" socket along with a 36" extension pipe off the breaker bar. Can't budge it...the axle nut does come off counter clockwise....right? I want to check the inner nut for tightness as I have slight rear wheel play on one side....

    8n rear wheel loose

I have a 52 8n that had a 13.4x28 tire on one side with a 11.2x28 on the other. I replaced the 13.4x28 and put a 11.2x28 to match both tires. I noticed the wheel "wiggles" compared to the other side with the lug nuts tight....are there shims behind the axle nut? I realize tire size would not...

    1952 Ford 8n carb Venturi

Thank you! I found some illustrations that showed the right orientation. Its an aftermarket carb (no markings) and the venturi does fit in either direction. I have a float issue as gas keeps coming out the throat as soon as i open the gas supply. I dont think it a venturi problem as the length...

    1952 Ford 8n carb Venturi

Having issues with fuel spilling out through the carb throat (air tube removed). Thanks for the advice folks submitted previously! Took the carb apart again and checked float needle (new) which looks to seat properly, there was a spring clip that came with the carb rebuild kit but somehow i lost...

    ford 8n carb

Wow! Thanks for the illustration! I"m going to pull it apart again today and check- The float needle is rubber tipped but i did not include the spring as the old one did not have a spring- I also used 1/4 brake line to change the fuel line- but that appeared common to the old one. I bought the...

    ford 8n carb

Finally got this 1952 8n to run for a minute or two! If i leave the fuel on until fuel drips out of the carb throat, the tractor runs for a few minutes- It will then stall after a minute or two, and not start again. If i let it sit until fuel drips from the carb throat, it will run again- I...

    Jubilee NAA starter

We have a 53 Jubilee that the starter will not retract or release from the flywheel at times-seems to stick a lot. A friend said you should not lubricate the starter for fear of lubricating the clutch disc and getting slippage...any advice? The starter was a rebuilt a few years ago, just replace...

    Ford 8N Alternator upgrade

Yes- I did buy a new coil at NAPA (got the coil # from this site). Its a 12v coil as i did not want an extra part as you advise. The new coil has a notation "no external resistor required". I thought the purpose of the resistor was to drop the 12volt battery voltage if someone did not want to...

    Ford 8N Alternator upgrade

I have been trying to get this 1952 8n started for awhile now...6v battery/6v coil...with no luck. Tried a 12v battery and it started instantly...I decided to change the alternator & coil to do a complete 12v conversion. The directions in the kit I received had a ballast resistor shown between...
