    4430 decals

    I am looking for original type hood decals for a 74 4430. Does anyone know if jd decals are the aluminum backed ones like original. I looked at parts info for r63411 ( believe that's part number) and no info on material. Has anyone found the original decals. Thanks for any info.

    In response to questions -I am trying to get engine temp up. I don't have the cab heater hoses connected so wasn't concerned with heat in cab. It was about -10 degrees. Engine radiator was covered with cardboard. I have a mechanical gauge attached to the engine and the temp was about 140...

    I have jd 180 degree stats in 4430 that are less than one year old and the temp comes up to about 140 when blowing snow with rad covered. Does anyone have the number of a 202 degree stat that will work. Thanks for your help.

    I have access to a set of R49860 wheel castings which are 38" from an 8430. I have 34" castinsg on a 4430 and would like to switch. Problem is I have the small axle on 4430. Any way to make this work for a reasonable amount of money??

    4430 syncro range tans

    I was looking at a 4430 that had the syncro range trans. As far as value is concerned, does the syncro add, subtract, or stay same as the other transmissions. Just curious. Thanks for your info. Ken

    4450 shift question

    A neighbor has a 4450 with 12,000 hrs but well cared for tractor. Row crop work only. The problem is the powershift trans will change gears on its own in either forward or reverse. Cab mounts don't seem to be bad. I'd appreciate ideas on what to check. Thanks in advance for you help. Ken

    Hi guys, I know this isn't a jd question specifically but I have a Gresen 3 spool hyd. valve 2753. It was on a jd so set up for closed center. I want to make it open center. Does anyone have a manual or schematic or knowledge to help with this project. Thanks for any help. Ken

    sleeve kit 4430

    I am looking for a sleeve kit which will improve cold starting. Hyper was $306/hole. Does that sound right?? Are there other kits that will aid starting but for less money??? Thanks for your help!

    Update on 4430 steering valve

    Just an fyi on the 4430 with the old steering valve with five ports. Extra port had line pressure when turning the steering. I blocked it off and steering works fine. Thanks for the help. Ken

    4430 power shift shifter spring

    Hi All, I am in need of a shifter spring for a 4430 power shift. It holds the shift lever to one side. JD has them re70193 for $65 but I don"t want to spend that much if I can avoid it. Anyone have a workaround for this part?

    I am putting a different cab on my 4430. 1974 s/n 26??? so old style valve. This valve has three lines coming through the firewall. I understand the left/right lines for steering, but what is the third line for?? Can I block it off?? The extra line's source is opposite side of valve...
