    Best Valve rebuild kit available

Who makes the best kit available for a 2N? I'm gonna need adjustable lifters as well.. I want the best I can buy and not necessarily the cheapest. Also, dumb question, but if you pull the seats, and install new ones. Do you need to grind them (put a 45 on them?) like regular OHC / car...

    mig welder

Yes you could. But, I'll say this. Both the artist and I can buy paint, canvas, brushes; and then proceed to put paint on the canvas. The artist's will resemble something recognizable. Mine will look like dog vomit. Welding thin sheet metal with an A/C stick welder requires a skilled...

    8n leveling box seized

I was using a bar through the holes in the fork, and the torque bent it up and mis-aligned the holes in the fork. Got it unscrewed a little, but completely messed up the fork in the process. KRS

    8n leveling box seized

No OA torch, but I do have a good sized weed burner. The problem is the threads. The gear head works fine. I'll give it another try. If I can get it apart I'll just clean it up and ise it.

    8n leveling box seized

Okay, used the search function and I've read about the allthread and coupler nut repair. My question is, on the female part, how much of it is threaded inside? How much do I need to cut off to get the shaft out? I don't know if the female piece is threaded 1" or 3" long? And what...

How to determine what is in tire?

Thank you! So, all of them (but antifreeze) can go on the ground, right? I'll give it a whiff, then think about the taste test ;) I'm just going to roll the tire so the valve is as low as possible, then empty what I can to make moving easier.

How to determine what is in tire?

One of the tires in my 8N are filled with something. I'll be moving a state or two away here in a few months and would like to find out what is in the tire so I can ask the best way to drain it. Farming is LONG gone from this area, so this will be DIY. Should I just go and push on the...

Time to wake up after 20 year sleep

Wow, no one has mentioned the clutch. The plate may be frozen to the flywheel. Go out and block down the clutch pedal, tomorrow if you can. If you find the clutch plate stuck, there is plenty of info on how to free it up. KRS

Shopping for a car/cargo hauler with a ramp rear door. Weight rating of minimum 10,000 lb gvw. 16" OC floor joists with 3/4" plywood floor. anyone ever hauled a tractor like an 8N in a trailer like this? KRS

is the 8n right for me

No one has mentioned the exhaust. It exits the tractor through a tailpipe just under the rear axle. Not friendly to hayrides! Many people have converted to vert exhaust, which would be better.

    Exhaust leak

I did the therma-steel repair on the block, new gasket, and 2 dozen hours later it's still holding well. KRS

    No Start Update

Cavity containing the clutch should be dry, the transmission gears should of course be lubricated. The section between the engine and the transmission is where the clutch is, and any leaks that find their way into that dry area leak out of that weep hole. If you have a steady stream, you have...
