    Just to add to my post….this is a 4 speed transmission and there is a way to adjust the clutch.

    The Tractor stops good when the clutch is pushed in but when you try to get it in gear again, the gears grind and won’t go back into gear. Then you have to shut the tractor off to get it back into gear.. Does anyone have any ideas why and how to correct it?

    the play is in the steering gear box in front of the clutch.

    The front wheels on my 730 Case wobble/flutter once in a while. The tie rods are tight and the drag length is tight. The steering wheel has about 6-7 inch play... is that too much play? Any ideas? Thanks

    I have 1/2 inch end play on the PTO. I took it out and the bearing looks good. What else could it be?

    Case 400 energy cell

    I have a 400 Case diesel round nose. How many items go behind plug on the energy cell. The book shows the diagram for the 400B which shows the plug, cap, cell cap and energy cell. I don't have that many pieces on mine. Is the 400 different from the 400B.

    energy cell removal

    Any ideas how to remove the energy cell form the head of a Case diesel tractor. Ive tried tapping from behind with a rod,using a screw from the front and nothing seams to work.

    clutch on 730 Case- diesel

    I bought this 730 tractor yesterday and the guy had a new clutch installed. But he could never get it to realease properly. I couldn't either... I have adjusted the forks but it didn't seem to help. Any ideas?

    I have a half around of play in the steering wheel (this one doesn't have power steering)how can i get the play out of the gear box. Thanks.
