    Weeding

I would like to move into organic raising of my hay, but here the goatweed is so bad that any scratch on the surface will result in a line of new goatweed. I should get another cutting off this hay. We will start to get rain sometime in September and the first frost will not happen until late...

    Weeding

It has been bone dry here in East Texas. Hotter than blue blazes as well. Leaves are falling not due to the coming of cooler weather but due to lack of rain. My question is a simple one. Should I withhold spraying for weeds until there is more activity in the plants. Should I wait and...

    Case RS 561 Baler

I mean hay jams up down by the lowest rollers and makes a dam. Hay then continues to pile up and becomes like talcum powder as the grass is beaten. I have to dump whatever is in the chamber. Open the chamber and go in and pull the grass out that has jammed the chamber. Grass is caught...

    Case RS 561 Baler

I have a Case RS 561 baler that is driving me nuts. We have tried everything we can think of to keep it from jamming, but nothing works. Tried three times today and three times it jammed hard and turned the grass into talcum powder. Hooked up the JD348 and square baled 125 without breaking a...

Help Please - three point lifting arms stuck full up

I have a relatively new John Deere 5320. It has been trouble free, but today when I went out to attach the rake, the lift arms are stuck in the full up position and will not come down. Yes, I can take it into the shop sometime next week (I hope), but I need to get this grass out of the...

    Weed Wiper info please

I have used one to control Johnson grass. Works pretty well. They make them that rotate counterclock wise so it stays in contact with the plant. Mine goes on the hay forks so I can adjust the height. The only trick I have found is that with the Johnson grass you have to get it from one...

    Feral Hogs

I have a small hobby farm that I have been working to try to get my hay up to sufficient quality to sell to the horse folks in the DFW metromess. Lately the feral hogs are doing tremendous damage to my fields. I must have two to three acres that have been effectively plowed by these...

    Weeds in Hay

I am half way between Ben Wheeler and Van. We are a good 6.5 inches low on rain this year, and what did come fell early. .

    Weeds in Hay

It has been so dry here in East Texas that the grass is poor, but some of the weeds seem to be flourishing. Anyone have good recommendations to rid a hay field of green briar, night shade, and goat weed. The rest of it I have a handle on, but the goat weed and green briar is tough to kill.

Parts for a JD 10 BALER

Sincere thanks for that Chris. I wonder if it is worth ordering the parts catalogue? Now my question is whether they have any parts. If I identify the parts number and they don't have parts.....I am no better off than I was before.

Parts for a JD 10 BALER

It is an old small square baler that used hydraulics to help compress the bales. When it is working right, it bales the prettiest little square bales you can imagine. Parts are hard to find. The local deere dealer does not even have them listed. JD did not make many of them.

Parts for a JD 10 BALER

Does anyone have a source that might have parts for a JD10 Baler. A parts manual would be great as well. Thanks in advance.

    2640 Starting Issues

I have a 2640 that has me flustered. I can leave it for weeks and when I go to start it, it starts fine. After I start it up and drive it over to put on an implement....it will not start back up. In fact, it barely turns over, and that is even if it has been run for an hour or more. I can be...

    JD #10

I bought an old JD#10 square baler that had been sitting for years. Baled about 90 bales with it on Saturday and it never missed even one. I was impressed. What it does do however is about every fifteen or so bales, the knives don't cut clean and there are two bales properly tied, but stuck...
