Using gasket sealer on one or both sides of gasket

I am replacing the water pump on a D312 engine. Should sealer be used on both sides of the gasket, or just one? Thanks.

    Fan removal question

I am trying to remove the fan, spacer, and pulley to get to the water pump on a D312 engine. The fan is really stuck. I've used at least a can of PB Blaster and a bunch of elbow grease. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Need picture of top link retainer for Hydro 70 (same as 656)

I recently bought a Hydro 70 which is missing the piece that holds up the top link when it isn't in use. I've looked through the tractor photos, but no luck. Thanks in advance for any help.

    Seat Repair help needed

I am replacing the seat on a Hydro 70, which uses the same seat that lots of later IH tractors used. I need help/advice about how to replace the rubber covered springs, the shock absorber, and any thing else that is needed. The CaseIH suspension assembly that includes these parts is 379319R94. I...

    Calling Allan in NE

Does your Hydro 70 have the 312 diesel? Could you tell me what path the hydraulic cooling hoses take from the elbows below the fuel tank to the cooler in front of the radiator? These hoses were missing when I bought this tractor. Also do you use Hytran in the hydro, or the traveller oil at TSC...

    Cab for Hydro 70

Another question--I just bought this tractor in an auction. The hydraulic cooler hoses are missing. What path do they take on the way to the cooling radiator up front on a diesel? (There is a jumper hose across the two fittings.)

    Cab for Hydro 70

Did IH offer a cab for a Hydro 70? If so, what other models used the same cab? (I'm talking about a real cab with or without a/c, and not a little flimsy one.) Thanks for any info. A photo would be nice.

    Hydraulic cooling lines missing

I recently bought a Hydro 70 from an estate sale. It is missing the metal lines and hoses that carry hydraulic oil to and from the hydro unit and the hydraulic cooler in front of the radiator. It has a short jumper hose across the two metal fittings under the fuel tank on the belly of the...

    1955 Roosa Master pump leaking

My 1955 injection pump is leaking fuel from the back side (on the side next to the engine that I cannot see.) Is there anything I can do to fix this without an expensive trip to an injection pump shop? Thanks for any help.

    Current leakage in electrical system

On my 1955, as far back as last fall, I have had an electrical short some where that drains the battery. I replaced the battery in January, thinking that it was the problem--didn't help. A couple of months ago, I replaced the alternator-didn't help either. An Oliver mechanic said the starter...

    calling J. Schwiebert

It is a Cat 3 hitch with the external hydraulic cylinders. I measured the length of the shaft. It is about 27" long. The distance between the left side of the tractor where the shaft comes out and the inside of the left wheel hub is about the same, but the shaft would have to be rotated a...

    calling J. Schwiebert

MR.Schweibert--can you give me any advice about replacing a oil seal on a 1955 load & depth shaft? It"s only leaking from the right side. Can the seal be replaced without pulling the shaft? What precautions do I need to take to do it right? I have a 1955 service manual.

Oil Leak on 1955 Load Depth Shaft

Recently after I finished plowing with my 3-point chisel plow, I noticed a gear oil leak coming from the right side of the load & depth shaft just above where the 3-point lift arm attaches. In the 1955 repair manual it looks like it needs a new seal. Can a new seal be installed on the right...
