861 power steering
About 500 hours on p/s fluid, as for filter, I have owned the tractor 15 years and never replace it. Looks like a good place to start. -

I have a 1958 861 with the early style piston type p/s pump. As I drove it out of the shed last week I noticed I had very little assist in my steering, maybe 50% at most. Checked fluid and belt tension, all is good and no leaks. I did notice the p/s cylinders felt very warm as well as the pump... -

Yes, that was my original plan. But the bolt is retained internally to the cover. I have had the cover off, looked over the under side and can't see what keeps the bolt retained, must be a internal locking ring that locks into a groove in the bolt. I can still use the tractor, so don't want to... -

I replaced the seal on the bleed screw, that is ok, leaks is from the center mounting bolt that goes through the filter. Thinking there must be a seal of some kind under the bolt head, but bolt and cover are sold as a assembly, not meant to come apart. -

I have a 1959 861 Diesel, trying to locate the top cover for the fuel filter. I ordered from Messicks but order come back no longer available, Part # 311865. The top cover is leaking fuel, I think from the center bolt. Wondering if any one has tried to pull the center bolt and reseal ? -

NH tn75da will not come out of 4wd
I have a 2007 New Holland tn75da, occasionally it has stuck in 4wd but in the past has went to 2wd after a little use. Now it will not come out. It has the electric 4wd switch, I tested the switch and have power in and out of the switch. I see in the parts cat. that there is a solenoid to shift...- ron861

850 Diesel
I had the same problem with my 861, loping at idle. I had set the timing per manual, still had the same problem. I ended up moving the pump slightly while idling tell loping stopped, runs fine now. I should also mention it did lope at pto speed while running my haybine, timing reset cured that too. -

Loader float position
I have a 2007 New Holland TN75DA with a 810TL loader. I bought the tractor used a couple years ago. I thought it had a float position by pushing all the way forward on the joystick. When I push the stick all the way down all I get is down pressure. Am I wrong about the float position, or could...- ron861

TN75DA overheating
Thanks again Rick B. for the info. I got the new sending unit from New Holland, the correct one for the gauge. Can you tell me which side of the head the sender is located ? The parts books shows it on the left side, above the oil filter. With the turbo, a/c, and all the other stuff crammed on...- ron861

TN75DA overheating
The one I replaced was on the water pump, near the thermostat housing. As per my New Holland dealer. Guess that would explain why it still goes to hot on start up. Thanks ! I'll be calling my dealer Monday morning.- ron861

I have a 2007 New Holland TN75DA tractor. Last week while baling hay noticed the engine temp. gauge in the red, stayed there for a minute or so and went back normal.
