    Governor set correctly?

Someone gave of governor this past week. So I got to looking. I got the manual and it like what I have. Manual shows the spring horizontal, but not giving of at idle or wide open. Me, it just seems that the tractor doesn't have the horsepower it should have. Has great compression, starts before...

    Still too wet

Glad you got to play and got unstuck. Nice Olivers you got there. Central Illinois here and I don't think it will ever dry up enough to get done what I want. Two huge oak trees down blocking two pathways and a large double white ash tree done blocking another. Still have a lot brush and small...

    Oliver 77 problems and questions

I has something of the same problem a while back. Carb rebuilt, gas line check, float checked and still run good and sputter and die. Let set and it'd start and run for a bit. Low idle and it would run seemingly okay. To me, the tractor was starving for gas and that what it was. Set like the...

    1650 voltage regulator mount

Just thought about it. I've got the voltage regulator and mount off my 1650. Voltage regulator quit and alternator weak, I about a new alternator with build in voltage regulator. I don't about anything electrical like a voltage regulator, but if someone wanted I give it to them, just pay...

    Oliver 77 drawbar

Spoke with my brother on welding cast iron. Biggest thing is heating the piece and keeping so-so warm. Grind the crack more open so to deep weld, heat again if necessary and weld fill whatever of the crack. Canton, Illinois - Javis welding. I stopped in to get a piece I had straightened and...

    1550 ignition

Mine were mounted under dash. I never knew they were there until I had to re-do the wiring. College kids messed up the wiring. Tractor was melting the batteries. They didn't label any wires. And then the wiring was a nightmare to begin with.

    1550 Loader update

With your first Thread I wondered how the loader bolted on. With this post I see how it's done. With my Farmall 400 and WD45 I had tubular frames that bolted onto the frame of the tractors. Nice was I could pull the lift with bucket and cylinders with just pulling 4 pins. Can't remember how...

    1550 ignition

I was never sure how one works, but check for a resistor - 3 or 4 inches long, porcelain and coiled wire in the center. Had one on my WD45 and Ford 900.

    Oliver 77 gas governor Questions

Check linkage on both the throttle and governor. No binding, cotter pins not catching. Spring correct on governor lever - lever set correctly. My 1650 manual has measurement for the rod from governor to the throttle.

    Wide vs Narrow Front End

Storm is over and nothing to do at 4:00 am. I had 806 with a Schwartz wide front. So maybe not necessarily just for a 504. Bedwell Farm Equipment in Bushnell, Illinos had parts for mine.

Oliver Industrial 77, 6cyl gas with front loader and center mount grader blade, 1951. I can't find much info on it. I've had it for over 50 years.

Found one who had back hoe on one. https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/threads/oliver-77-industrial.334805/page-2

What I found on Google - still searching. 1948-1954. A heavier front axle and larger front tires were a major difference between the Oliver 77 Standard and the 77 Industrial models.
