I was told to check glow plugs by un hooking the wire to the plug. Then take a test light and hook it to the positive post on the battery and then to the glow plug connector. Does that sound right I have been told to replace them all at once but I was trying to save a dollar or ten.

I am going to put a clutch kit in my Grandfathers old 601 workmaster tractor. I saw the clutch kit on here and just want to know what all I will need to replace inside the housing besides what comes with the clutch kit. I saw some sleeves and what not that sold seperate. 56 rake

One of the 14 inch wheels were bent anyway so I am going to the same as on the 256. The 14 inch wheels were on it when I got it. I have one good 15 inch wheel and I will get another when I go to the salvage yard. Thanks

    56 rake

The rake came with F78-14 tires and they were all to pieces. I just put on new ones and they are 205/75 14s. It seems like it is spinning the bars a lot faster than my 256. I am using the same tractor pulling the rakes in the same gear and rpms. Is the gear box geared different in the 56 versus...

    7600

The tractor had a loader on it when I got it and that prior owner kept it. A boy that works for me was pulling the NH617 which is the heaviest one disc mower I believe was ever made. We were mowing a new farm and he found a sinkhole, thats when the casing busted. A friend of mine came got it...

Has anyone ever had the main casing bust that that the steering box sits on. My goodness that thing busted in 4 different spots and I guess finding one much less welding will be a chore. I will have to split the tractor and my goodness there is no telling what is inside there. I'm afraid to move...

OT - Regular septic tank pumping .. or not?

I have been in the septic business for years and I would tell you to pump it every year or so according if you have a garbage disposal running to it. Garbage disposal once a year, no garbage disposal every 2 to 3 years according to use. If you have it pumped ask the pumper if he has a vaccum...

    Ridding a truck of Mice

Try dryer sheets a friend of mine swears by it. Every winter when he puts his camper up he stuffs them in every nook and cranny he can find. Not to expensive and smells good too.

    851 NH roller

I sucked a cedar limb up in the roller and bent that bar that runs horizontal that has the knife on it that cuts that string. It bent far enough that it came loose on the side away from the knife. Question has anyone ever bent that thing back succesfully to make it work again. I guess anything...

    New Holland 851 baler

The slower you go the tighter the bale the faster you go looser the bale. Farmall 706 I run 3rd low usually with the TA back up hill and pushed up the rest of the time unless I 'm on very steep ground. I have rolled hay all summer with mine and according to the windrow will determine your speed...
