    MF 65 distributor

    The 65 will have the early style Delco Remy distributor with clips to hold the cap on. The MF 165 will have the aluminum distributor with screws and will be a different kit. Thats the reason G176's have different kit numbers.

    MF65 and MF50 differences ?

    They are the same age but still different enough that not many parts will interchange. One other thing you need to consider is that the MF 65 has 4 different hoods by itself. The grills and front axle/steering are the same and transmissions are but thats about it.

    The original poster has a MF 40 industrial. The second poster is looking for a F-40, two totally different tractors made in two totally different decades.     165 For Salvage

    The tractors take to the scrap yard will bring more then $1000.00 across the scales. MF 165's will bring $1250-1850.00 for salvage and 265's will be $1850-2500.00 for salvage. I buy tractors every day and when I can buy one cheaper than that am pleased but that hardly ever happens any more.

    The knee is the part that the spindle goes through.

    I have sold two 540 engines to go into MF 1150's and never had to do anything with the flywheel that I know of.

    mf 1080 won't pull itself

    I would almost bet that the mechanic put the coupler between the transmission planetary and pinion shaft in backwards. The coupler can then slide off and stop letting your tractor drive.

    Those are for western tractors only. I have several of the Super 90s for parts but none of them were Western Specials.
