    1947 Farmall M Episode 15: What a TEASE!

    I hope it's not a rag stuffed up the intake. Ha. I had plugged all the holes on a 130 I was rebuilding and almost forgot more than once to remove the rags. i.e. manifold intake, rad ports, rad, oil pickup pump, and on and on.

    Great progress Ken, Lots of hard work will pay off for sure. When doing these rebuilds I remember the words of a good friend, "Does not need to be ready Monday morning". It is a fun project and definitely a labour of love, looks to me like you are really enjoying it......and so are we!

    UPDATE. Ok. So I put the starter back together. Looked up the clutch hand hole while buddy pulled the lever. I could clearly see the pinion gear shoot forward all the way. I could see the armature spline shaft spinning but the pinion gear was not moving at all. Soooooo if anything I have...

    This is the inside of the starter hole. This is a view from the handhole. No teeth broken. Some teeth look rough, there also seems to be a few shiny spots beyond, or deeper than the tooth area. I will try your suggestion and spin the flywheel to some fresh looking teeth, re-install...

    Not sure how similar your pump is to the pump on my 130, but I went down the road to try to rebuild, but found it too much of a hassle. i.e. I was shipped some bad parts from CaseIH. I ended up just buying the aftermarket pump from CaseIH at a discount, but basically the same price as the kit...

    This is how I supported my 130. I was able to move the cherry picker away after the tractor was secure on the wood blocking.

    Here's a look inside an AV, which is similar. Pulling the cover is no problem, remove the top bolts. There is a gasket that may need replacing afterward. Look for damaged gears. http://forums.yesterdaystractors.com/viewtopic.php?t=721344

    I have done a couple myself. You can order a seal and gasket from CaseIH. Just pay close attention, and take a few pics while you dismantle the pump. Check also look for a worn out shaft. If you need to replace the pump, they can be pricey. I was able to get a good used one for $150Cdn. at a...

    Randy, It is a dirty little job. You may have to remove the rad, maybe not. I was looking at mine today and figuring how I am going to get the axle U bolt out, might be able to wiggle a socket in there. If the the steering arm and the tie rod ends come off easy you should be OK. There are...
