Our 1855 isn't starting with the key anymore- and I'm pretty sure it's the solenoid. The trouble is, it's got another black plastic relay wired in which seems like another external solenoid, that is then wired to the one on the starter. It's always worked so I never messed with it but now I gotta start it with a screw driver across the terminals, either on this relay across the 2 red wires, or on the solenoid itself where the red wires are connected.
Any thoughts on this extra relay? I'm thinking I should be able to remove it, get a new solenoid for the starter, and just go back to original.
