I?ve been looking for a good used 7 or 8 ft bush hog/brush hog/rotary cutter for forever and day now. I?ve gave up and decided to buy new. I?ve priced a new Bush Hog Bh217 for $3800 and a new 2308 for $5050. The only hung that concerns me about the 2308 is BushHog has a 1 1/2? cutting capacity on it. Seems like an awful heavy mower for that small of a rating. It does have he oval blade holders which I?m not a fan of. The 217 is a round blade holder and rating for 2? material. Will any of these other brands hold a candle to the BushHogs? I can get a TRI(Tennessee River Implement) for about $3000, Titan for about $3750, and I?m waiting on the price for a Jbar. 7ft in the off brands are about $1000 cheaper, depending on brand and model. Anyone running one of these mowers?
