What is a fair price for an old 12.5 horse, 6 speed, craftsmen lawn tractor. It runs well and has decent tires. It has a deck but the guy doesn't want it.

How old is "Real old"?

What brand engine?

What size tires and wheels?

Does hub and wheel bolt together or are they one piece that slides onto the axle?

Is the deck in good working condition or are spindles and blades shot?

Is it one of those international yellow machines sold by Sears?

Picture would be nice.

With out a lot more info hard to say. I picked up a Craftmans LT4000 this summer just for hauling it off and it ran well but the tranny was bad. Took parts from another lawn tractor and fix the tranny problem and its now a cutting devil, so you see it could go for little or nothing up to around $1000 depending on what it is and how old it is. Some of the older ones where made by MTD and or Murry. I have a 1967 murry I payed $70 for about 10 years ago and I just plain wore it out but if I wanted to I could put on a new belt and battry and it would still probably run

Real old isn't really that old; but not sure of year. Its one of the grey craftsman that still had a steel hood. 12.5 horse briggs. Deck is in good condition, but the guy who wants it doesn't want the deck.

Around here in NJ that tractor sells for $125-200 max. There's no short supply of garage kept, clean running models around.

I just sold a 10 hp craftsman for 375 in RI. With no rust/rot good tires and a great deck but no bagger. It was about 22 years old
