Bought some tractors off a neibor and he told us we had to take all or none. So we ended up with 4 cases, and I was wondering about this dc lp. Is it factory or just a nice conversion?

Book says Case started making LP LA's in 52, Not sure exactly on the D series but think it was 51.
Love them LP tractors, smooth running tractors.

Good looking tractor.Looks like the one I have except mine has the narrow front. Mine is a 51. 51 was the first year for propane on a DC. What year is yours?

Tag says its a 48 so I guess its not factory. It sure looks factory. Here are a couple more of the cases

My son posted a picture of his LP DC a couple of days ago, and the fellas that owened it before said their dad had the DC converted to LP by a dealer. LP was a lot cheaper than gas in the 50's. Case kit included head, tank, hood, regulator,dash,etc. to make gas tractor into propane one!!

I read one time that some conversion kits didn't come with the head, that it was a option depending if the farmer wnted to pay the extra. One way to check is to get the casting number off the head, they had different casting numbers from duel fuel gas, and propane.

His DC does indeed have the propane head. Numbers check out. Conversion all was supplied by Case!

It is a factory conversion kit. If the owner wanted the LP head the number is 6128. You could get the kit with or without the special head. There is a conversion instruction manual that shows exactly how to do the conversion, what parts come with the kit, and the disassembly and reassembly routine. Don

Thanks for all the help. The tractor does have the lp head, and for the ski doo junkie i think you allready know the future of the tractor. I do enjoy and appreciate all the replies.
