I have a 44H that I bought mostly done and ready for pulling. Problem is the old guy that built it died and did all the work to this thing himself and I'm stuck trying to figure out just what he did to this tractor. The most I can figure is its got a set of 3 9/16 pistons in it (possibly from a 303 combine?) they look like firecraters with the dome and small indention in them, they stick up to the bottom of the spark plug hole at TDC. The best I can figure without dissassembling the engine is that its got a 5 inch stroke. The head and block don't seem to be milled at all. It has a 8043DC gas head. I haven't done a compression check but I would like to know if anyone could give me a rough estimate of what the compression ratio would be in this engine? Thanks for your help!

200 psi or more if it does have a stroker at those specs.

It could have welded rods and used the 303 piston,,,,,, with no stroke. Chad

THanks Guys! I'm looking for a litle more power. What would be the next obvious step to get a little more?
