Before purchasing a new ground cable do a simple test
Disconnect the ground valve front the front of the starter and reconnect it to one of the bolts that holds the starter on
Use the photo in post 33 for reference

Well just make sure follow the ground cable from the battery down to where it attaches to the tractor
I think you’ll find it uses to the stud on the front of the starter
If it does disconnect it from the starter and reconnect it to the starter mounting bolt shown in my photo in post #33

just thought about something. that may be why tractor cranks with booster cables because one end is attached to frame of tractor thus getting a ground
Yes sir, that is exactly what my reply 57 is trying to explain. That is why I asked for a photo of that location early on as soon as I understood exactly how you were using your jumper cables. Others have tried to explain or give remedies down the same line. Glad you are learning something! (y) :)
How big is the diameter of the wire harness loom that these burnt wires go into at the key switch. 1/2”- 1” 1 1/4”? Trying to determine what the difficulty level will be to trace out where the burnt wires connect on the other ends without a wiring diagram.

ok here is an update. took ground wire off starter post attached to frame because bolt for starter house was to big for end of cable. anyway it didn't start . so went to plan b replaced starter cable to the staryer end put booster cables on the battery then ground other black end to frame nothing happened I reworked the terminal ends and lo and behold.it cranked so now I will try and ground starter cable to another spot

does these pic help. I asked destroyed 450 to send me a pic of wires go to his tractor ignition switch. I was told the wire going too the accessories was brown/green . when they got burned I peeled back harness little by little and their are two wires together 1brown and white and the other one red white in it so i don't remember what the wire looked like that attached to the accessories
 
Moving that ground around to other bolts will do nothing. As long as it is bolted to a cast part of the tractor it will be fine as long as the bolt that holds it is tight. You started or cranked after you messed with the cables because one of them had a bad connection. The inside of the post terminals should be bright shiny lead. Also the outside of the battery posts themselves should be bright lead. Use a wire brush or you may have to scrape them with a pocket knife blade. A did you check them by tugging on them as I suggested?? I am not kidding about this. Don’t be thinking “I got them in there that is good enough, I don’t want to have to mess with them again if I jerk them apart” They need check to provide us a reliable basic power source so we can move on as Jim.ME has suggested.
To find out where one of the burnt wires goes I have a hunch for you to look at the terminal the battery post connects to on the solenoid. Are there other smaller wires on that terminal along with the battery cable? If so disconnect the negative cable off the battery to cut power to the system. Take off the nut on that terminal and remove the wires from it and examine the smaller wires and report back what you find, like burnt wires. That is the normal location a wire is connected to power all other systems on the machine beyond the high amp starting circuit, which basically means the battery cables and starter.

You cannot go by wire color alone. It can be a starting point however you are going to verify both ends are where they belong regardless of the color. n This is where a wiring diagram is most helpful.

yes I yanked on the battery and finally was able to get a ground on the booster cable attached to the frame I have new battery terminals I the only burnt wires were on the ignition switch. i tried later to crank it no go I took off the terminal and readjusted in on the end of the negative cable still nothing I guess it didn't feel.like working. here is a picture of the negative end of the battery.and it's been wore down some

Just to think about it seems I've had trouble with these for awhile always having to readjust them for it to crank.. I have to take the positive cable because I'd I don't the battery needed jumping off
