Super C Gears/Clutch

I am getting loud grinding under the seat to the left by the axle/housing junction when I let out the clutch no matter what gear I select. When the clutch is pushed in or out, no noise....after the gears engage and the tractor is rolling, no noise. Only when I am letting out the clutch.

I will check the tranny oil level tomorrow, but any ideas what it could be.

I'd jack up the side with the noise and pry the wheel to see if it wiggles. If so then you have a bearing going out. You could also try to feel for movement as you jack it up or let it down slowly. Also check for a loose wheel or rim. Might have to loosen the bolts up then retighten them to get them tight. This would be for both rim and axle.

Once the tractor is rolling, no noise. Wouldn't a bad bearing be noisy while it is rolling?
