I have a swd6 that was getting compression gas into the
radiator. When I pulled the head it lifted right off. Seemed
odd to me because they usually are stuck a bit. I had the
head checked out and it pressure test fine but u can see a
slight crack between the valves on #4. Head shop guy said
he can only pressure test up to 15 lbs and it doesnt leak at
that pressure but when running there is way more pressure
and most likely it will leak. My question is does anyone know
a shop that welds/repairs these heads successfully? I am in
Wisconsin but willing to travel to get it fixed.
Thanks
Joel

I would look for a shop that could pressure test it to at least a couple hundred PSI or so. Other wise you don't know if it is really bad.

i had the same deal on the same tractor about 40 years ago. had cracks between the valves. pretty sure it was head hunters in edmonton that welded it up. i remember it was around 600.00. dollars then. now it wil be 3 times that. they can be fixed but the trick is to find a good shop.
