I'm borrowing an old friends WD-45 tractor to run the IH No. 46 baler I bought. I know this tractor has a live PTO, but I can't seem to figure out how to keep the PTO running when I press the clutch. Any help??
Don't use the foot clutch, use the hand clutch. This will stop forward motion of the tractor but pto will continue running.
Make sure the baler slip clutch is not tightened up all the way. That PTO is adequate for most work but it's not the strongest setup in the world. Slippage is cheaper than breakage.
