yes its 40-45 lbs of torque. if at 40 lbs the cotter pin dont go in keep tightening till they go in. make sure to torque and check the clearance with plastiguage before the cotter pin install.

and if the holes are too far out i have even swapped the nuts around .

It's on the packaging, but you cut a small piece, place it where you are measuring, torque the fasteners, take it apart and compare the size of the smashed plastic to the provided gauge.

Also had the radiator flushed and serviced. Where is a good place to buy the pads that the radiator sits on once on the tractor.

I have personally never used them… not in those engines…but they have been showing up in gasket kits in recent years . You can toss them .

I don’t even think a person can buy them. Just make them with a hole saw from rubber gasket material. About 3/8 “ thick stuff.

You could just use a piece of 2 ply car tire for the radiator mounts.

I took a break for a moment from working on the bn today. I thought I would get some advice on What is the best way to get the engine out of my farmall 806 I'm doing a engine swap. The only way I can figure is to remove one of the side rails. What are your thoughts ideas on how to remove the engine. The front plant won't clear the side rails it goes up under the lip of the rail. This will be my next project after I finish the bn. It's a gas engine and I have the c301 that came out of a running combine. Thanks

Front plant? U mean mount? If the engine won’t come out by sliding it out the back , then that’s what u have to do.

Yes the mount plate on front of the engine.

Lifting with the bolts loose/too long is a good way to drop an engine when the bolt snaps. Use shorter bolts or spacers to make your rigging tight to the block. Lift closer to the center cylinders, you have excessive angle on the chains… or use a spreader.

Suggest , because your putting a lot of money and effort into this project, I highly recommend the you service that oil pump.
check the housing cover for warping and the gears for proper clearance Blown out gasket .
tip the gasket will blow out if cover is warped , mine took .015 off to bring back flat in spec.
also buy the gasket from case ih cause it is .005 to ..006 . Very very important
I bought one for mine and it .010 thick from Steiner which will put the oil pump out of gear clearance spec .
also the pressure relief spring in there is 80 years old ,replacing it is a very good idea.

What parts on the bn are painted black. I have seen the starters painted red and some black. Also the manifold should it be black or red. When painting the manifold do to the high heat do I have to paint it with high temp paint first then red.
