White 2-85 slipping

What is it worth to you? A scrapper will pay roughly half of what it will bring for it"s weight in metal at the scrap yard... If a collector desperately needs it to round out his collection it is worth more to him... There will be instances where some owner said, just haul it out of here so I...- denny-o

plowing
Hard looking soil... Wow... Just plowed up ~6 acres of heavy sod today in 2 different fields with a 555H 3-14 plow... Not having any real problems... Pulling it with an Oliver 1600 (my MD does not have hydraulics)... Only problem I got into on the second field is at one end, about a half...- denny-o

Sell whatever your money is in and put it in cash... Find a small tract of tillable land (or land that can be cleared and made tillable with sweat equity) and use the cash as a down payment to get a mortgage... Rent the land out to a farmer... You will get a payback of 3% to 4% per annum... -

Ya know, a little green paint covers a lot of mystery... So, the 2 hub pieces are the tapered plug type that fit into each other and turn on a bolt - no bearings, just grease... Well, we were at the dealer today and I bought a gasket for the rocker cover so I guess we are going to lash the valves... expensive gasket... This is a 4300 hour tractor with a sloppy amateur paint job after it was left outside to rust... It has the usual cosmetic issues but mechanically it...- denny-o

Just got a 1086 with 4300 hours... Replaced the exhaust elbow... Now it is quiet enough that I hear a light valve tic from near the front and sounds like it is on a single cylinder... 1600 clutch - confused
I was pulling a 12 foot Oliver disc harrow (36 discs) and I noted smoke coming from the bell housing so I stopped... I had pulled the disc in 2nd, then 3rd, and was pulling in 4th when I saw it... This was just a test run to determine which gear I should use and I had only pulled a few hundred...- denny-o

Spray paint barn steel
You don't say what kind of paint... I suspect you need to wash the siding with something like TSP, then put on a primer coat that is compatible with both the baked finish on the siding and your paint... If there are any rust spots on the siding covering them with paint does not stop the rust...- denny-o
