    Voltage Regulator

Stan, I have a 1948 TEA20, it has a Lucas RB108 control box (a slightly updated version). The mid terminals that you mentioned equate to the way mine is wired. The end terminals both go to the generator. Reading from left to right, D (it's next to your bond to the tracor) goes from control...

    Rocker Arm Assembly TEA20

If I am not too late with this, you might need to use wire feeler gauges (not flat blade type gauges) to reset the rocker clearances as the contact faces appear to show concave wear pattern which the flat blade type will otherwise slide over the high not contact sides

    1951 H. Ferguson

Sounds like gas overflowing through the carb and into the air supply tube. Could be due to carb float level arm too high which otherwise temporarily shuts off the gas supply when the tractor is running so the tractor gets only the gas it needs to run. If thats the case it requires adjustment...

    TEA20 help!!!

I have had similar problems at different times, once it was the points and when replaced all was fine, then some time later the condenser failed and all went back to normal when a new one was fitted and the months rolled on and last time it was the rotor button - all small items but caused big...

    Flooding

The others will correct me if I am wrong but from memory the gas in the bowl height is 15mm or a bit over 1/2". Measure that externally byremoving the very bottom screw from the bowl,, insert a small diameter clear plastic tube, open the valve at the top of the sediment bowl, lift the clear tube...

    TO35 Governor Problem

John (UK) told me everything must be right and with no slack in any of the movements or joints anywhere, in the end I had to get a mechanic to come, he tuned the carb, I think he made it run richer and he adjusted the long rod, he soon got it working but he did say that it needed revs to make it...

    TO30 will not start

If its still not going, open the distributor, remove the condenser, get another condenser from somewhere, and tie it against the outside metal area of the distributor, undo the lead in wire to the distributor, attach the small condenser wire and see if she starts; if yes go and buy the right...

    Welding question

My electric garden chipper has a triangle shaped metal piece that spins just up above the main blades. The piece is used as a crusher for larger branches. The "spot weld" that joins the triangle at the top of the piece has separated. As the chipper is electrically powered would it be safe to...

    Battery post leaking acid

The positive battery terminal on my Toro lawn mower has started to leak acid which messes up the terminal and this causes a weak electrical connection. Instead of having to clean the post all the time, is there any way I can seal it ? - the battery shop I bought it from has gone out of business

    tea 20 carb

Down in southern Australia, few Fergies even have an "interconnection rod" fitted between the carb ad the choke. Don"t know why maybe they seized up in practice. Its very easy to start the tractor without that interconnection rod. Untitled URL Link

    Spark plugs

I had a similar problem when my digital multimeter that wouldn't give me accurate readings on my old MG when it had regulator problems. I bought an analogue voltage meter at an electrical store. I think its of the "moving coil" variety. Anyway this inexpensive tool soon gave me reasonably...

    TEA20 restoration

Joe, On my TEA 20, an old one, I lift as I push forward towards 3rd gear. Its nowhere near S; it took me while to learn it, in fact it was my wife who showed me how to do it - just keep trying, feel confident and it will start once you get it right. Geoff

    TEA20 with "Fergy Positioner"??

Bob, have a look at this website - http://www.fergy.com.au/positioncontrol.htm - looks similar to the part you located - but no clues about the black rubber bands - Geoff

    Carb fuel/gas level

Hi everyone, I need some advice about the Zenith carb fuel level for my 1948 TEA 20. The archives mention a few different things and maybe they relate to different tractors and carb models and even float level heights which might be different. I don’t necessarily want to measure the float itself...
