    Thanks Bruce,Den and Tom.I did the tests as you guys recommended and discovered it was that the pigtail was too short or maybe going to ground.So i fixed it. Fired up first time.Going down my road in fourth gear felt like I was in a hot rod 49 ford. Thanks

    Den N Ms I took the distritor out to adjust the points,as per the manual.I know of only one point the pigtail connection can be made to the coil.Is there something I should know about the connection? I'll try the paper bag as i do not want to waste any 1 dollar bills these days .Would it help if...

    1949 8n front mount distributor.I removed the distributor from my tractor to adjust the points and timing.I set the points to the recommended.0.015in{actually the were on the money to start with]The breaker points started opening when they should.so I didn't fool with the timing.I have no spark...

    soundguy Yes i still have a tranny top mounted thumb sized starter switch.The ignition switch is more of a pullout switch.jay
