    550 haybine advice

I won't have to worry the issue now. The haybine sold today while I was hauling a 430 home. It seems it was not meant to be. :)

    550 haybine advice

I've been searching for a Case haybine to use on my farm. Tonight I looked at a 550 which came for sale locally. I know this is the pioneer model of Case/Hesston, and viewed as less desirable than the 555. The positives I noted on this machine were no breaks or welds, no dents and collision...

    power steering booster cylinder bushing

On the power steering system used for early 430 utility models (and others) with a booster cylinder, the shaft mount bushings are Case #A35654, priced approximately $17-18 each currently. As this design looks quite alike that used on 1955-64 Chevrolet, do any of you know if the bushings are the...

    230 baler timing

This past Summer I bought a 230 baler, for sale in the local area and priced close to scrap value. My original intent was to keep some pieces for spares and part the rest. After looking into it more thoroughly and freeing up the machine, I may keep it for a second complete baler. The problem...

    Case 65 pull type combine

According to the book, 150 years of J.I. Case by C.H. Wendel, the model 65 was built 1957-58. It is a 6 foot cut with 28" cylinder, available as P.T.O. drive or with a Wisconsin V-4. I would guess that auger parts are shared with some other Case combines of the era.

    281 rake

Thanks for the lead, Jim. Unfortunately, the 200 is a different and earlier model and does not seem to share common parts with a 281.

    281 rake

I bought this rake to expand my line of Case machinery on the farm. From everything I can glean, I believe its a model 281. It looks like I'll need to replace bearings in the gearbox and also do a major overhaul to the wheel hubs. As CNH parts site does not show the parts diagram, can one of...

    230 baler repair

John, I have to agree it may be my least favorite feature of the baler. This is speculation, but perhaps the Case baler designers of the day were going after a simple and light design overall for the 200 series. I have read the Case 200-230 are some of the lightest small square units. Maybe...

    230 baler repair

Larry, your baler looks to be in great condition. I cannot imagine what motivates a man to discard that slip clutch guard, but the parts 230 I bought is also missing it.

    230 baler repair

Have any of you with a 200, 220, or 230 baler had to disassemble your machine to repair the feeder arm mount? Three of the four brackets were cracked through and had to be welded. I wondered if this was a known issue on these balers, and only a few days ago another 230 appeared for sale...

Hydraulic filter , front end loader ID help

Yes, that looks like it could hold a filter behind the plate.

Hydraulic filter , front end loader ID help

Its not an Ag style loader such as the model 191, but some derivative of a Case industrial loader.

    Case 570 tractor questions

Thanks for filling in the details I forgot, cnt. It was late when I wrote my first reply. I hadn't even considered that the std. PTO could be had on some 570's, which as you mention probably would be only 4 speed models. I suppose there are a few with no PTO, like is common on many...

    Case 570 tractor questions

The 570 series is nearly identical to the earlier 530 (1960-1969). The std. transmission is the 4 speed, the 8 speed is the same with a dual range added, and the shuttle is the 8 speed with shuttle added. The shuttle transmission is super handy with loaders, but probably not such a benefit for...
