    9N front wheels

My tractor's front wheel is puncturing the tube due to heavy rust and scale build-up. I've found a sand-blasting shop that's familiar with these problems and mentioned the occasional need to weld-up areas that may blow through during the sandblasting. Before I choose this route, I thought I'd...

    3 point links

Thanks Dell, I'm sure the vertical portion of both brackets face inboard, not outboard. Are the brackets designated to be (and stamped?) Left and Right?

    3 point links

Hi guys, I recall reading a recent post about the location of the pins in the under-axle bracket that anchors the stabilzer bars that control side to side sway of implements on 9N's. After reading this info I realized my pivot pins were not aligned with the lower lift arm pins. I moved the pivot...

    snow chains

Speaking of tire chains and plowing, how well does a 9n do (with chains and beet juice tires) on pavement with a back blade (in the front facing position) and the blade angled to plow snow to the pavement edge while running forward? I plan to mount some steel "shoes" behind the blade to keep the...

    ROPS

Thanks to all for your comments. Its a GO! (My wife will be pleased:-)

    ROPS

A question for the 9N brain trust, If you have securely mounted a decent, padded (Hyster fork lift)seat with arm rests and seatbelt on the stock 9N "U" spring bar, is an approved ROPS (hoop or welded) effective and worth the $$$? This is a tractor and bush hog combo, working on a sloped lot...

    Transmission Drain Plug Frozen

Dell, Evidently, I got some bad advice on re-filling my 9N final drive with GL-5 90wt. What problems might this cause. It shifts fine, 3 pt. works well, no problems so far. I use it in moderate temps(50-80F)with a brush hogg. Thanks!

top link pin w/ support chains

I just bought a set of implement support chains w/turnbuckles from YT for my 9N and to use w/a bush hog. The 3 PT. top link fits between two ears on the cast bracket on the upper final drive housing. The upper eyes of the turnbuckles must go outboard of the bracket ears and on the toplink pin...

    9N tire chains

Thanks to all for the info. The tires are 12.4 x 28 and new. TSC and tirechains.com are great resources for comparison and prices. It appears TSC does not have Oregon or Washington stores however. Ya'll have a great new year!

    9N tire chains

After casually inquiring at the local NAPA store about what a pair of semi truck(single) tire chains(not cable type) go for new($400+),I thought it would be wise to check and see what ideas the 9N brain trust has about where to source a set of chains to use on my 9N ag. tires in winter when...

    Question for Bruce

UFD is an attempt to express "Micro Farads". The actual symbol consists of the greek letter "mu". (It's symbol looks like a lower case, cursive "u") followed by an upper case normal "F". MicroFarads are a measurement of capacitance...essentially the number of electrons that can be stored on the...

    t-stat?

Thanks, Dell. I figured as much but didn't recall anybody talkin' about t-stats(or lack of)and I don't think I saw anything in the "50 tips" about 'em either. I checked the photo of the one sold here at YT. Looks like a normal wax pellet design but with a long barrel (to keep it straight in the...

    t-stat?

I changed the top (tired) rad. hose on my 9N and did not encounter a thermostat. Since then I've come across some drawings in the Ford manual showing the stat and it's orientation in the hose. I also remember reading a precaution about not removing the stat permanently. I plan to use the 'ol...
