Finally got to the cover today, sanded fairly easily. Huge difference, i,dont have a great straight edge, im using a 6 inch Square, does the cover have too be 100% flat? I can see a little light but I can see an equal amount on tge housing when I check that...my guess is 2 gaskets...

Hey fellas, i pulled the oil pump cause I didnt have good oil pressure, right on the line between red and white on the gauge. Radiator hose

Anyone know where to get 12 inches of 2" I.D. radiator hose? All I can find is 3' lengths and I only need 6 inches for the tractor. All the pre cut pieces are 2.5" long and they barely have enough room for the clamps to seat properly in my opinion. Thanks, anthony

    Fan belt size

I have a super A with a non pressurized radiator and no water pump from a early A. The engine is a c123 but the fan belt measures 3/4 x 33.5 which is for a c113. There are various sizes within an inch of what I have now. Should I go with the standard A belt which is slightly smaller than what I...

    Governor slop

I I opened the "a" governor and the spring was intact, the thrust bearings looked fine, so I put it back together and noticed the clevis rod on carb side was rubbing so I flipped it so the bend ofthe rod was facing the carb and no more rub, throttle on carb opens and closes freely. But when i...

    A govenor

I have almost no throttle response, if I move the rod on the left side of the tractor to the rear I get plenty response, just vary little from the seat and only on the idle end. I had to take the radiator off to get boiled out and a leak checked out so it's all open. I was thinking I should...

    Throttle and choke shaft questions

I'm going to replace both these shafts in the carb and had a question about the packing... the kit includes both shafts, new screws, a felt washer, felt packing, plug and retainers. I've never replaced these before, the directions say neoprene seals but I have both felt and neoprene, and felt...

    Autolight 386 vs 3116

There were autolight 386 plugs in the Super A when i got it. It has a mag so I put 3116 in because they're non resistor plugs and i guess that's what you need to use from what I've read but are these hot enough? I've read that if your plugs are not hot enough you'll have to use choke to run...

    Rustred quick question

The well jet and economizer jet won't come out, the screw heads are destroyed but the passage ways look fine so i wasn't going to new with them . I'm assuming they have gaskets so when I soak this carb later today it's probably going to eat those gaskets away. Think this is going to create a...

    Rustred, carb question

I'm going to pick up a gallon of gunk tonight. The main jet assembly was already put together so I assumed the guy before me reinstalled correctly, I know I know, so I'm guessing I should pull all of that apart before soaking? I don't have the jet install tool and cash is tight, do I need it ?
