    My 180 is about done

About a year and a half ago I took a chance on a Massey 180 at the scrapper it looked too straight to cut up, it has taken more time and money than I thought it would, but it has been a fun learning experience having never been around Massey Ferguson before. It seems to be a good running tractor...

I have a Massey 180 with the two remote auxiliary valves, one appears to be set for one way operation and one is set for two way, I would like both set for two way, I have found the two slotted pins in the front of the valve and believe this is where the adjustment is made but would like...

    DC at the scrap yard

I was driving past the local scrap yard and spotted this, I believe it is a 1941 DC in reasonably complete shape, my guess is the wide front is a later addition as it has the curved steering arm but don't really know. The chrome on the hood is in nice shape as is with chrome on the headlight...

    Rim lock question

My son and I were working on a Massey 180 and a 65 getting good back wheels on both and found there are two different types of rim locks on the power adjust wheels, one where the holes are drilled perpendicular to the rail and one where the holes are drilled at an angle through the rail, why the...

Pilot hole for a Massey 180 front wheel

I have a Massey 180 that I am working on and have found something puzzling, one of the front hubs appears to be machined for a 4" pilot hole and the other one is machined for 4 5/8 pilot. Did Massey have bespoke front rims on their tractors?

    Questions on MF 180

I have spotted a reasonable looking 180 at a local salvage yard that looks to be in reasonable shape and might make a good plowing match tractor. I am curious about the hydraulic capacity and can power beyond be added to the hydraulics, It is a four cylinder gas motor that is free, supposedly...

My sons found this model 80 combine on facebook and decided to save it, it is in very good shape as it was shed stored its whole life and looks to have been well kept. Learn something new every day

After following the spark plug thread below I found out some DC's had thermostats, something I didn't think happened , my 49' DC has the 5414A elbow with no thermostat, would it be possible to machine this elbow for a thermostat? I use this tractor in the fall and winter to auger corn and using...

    Found nice CASE disk

I had been sort of looking for a 10 foot disk to pull with the DC and CC just to have something to give them a work out once in a while. I came across this model S at the estate of a fellow CASE collector, for being the better part of 70 years old it is in remarkably good shape, no breaks or...

Rod and main bearing clearances for a CC

Its been 50 years since I last painted my CC that has been in the family since new, the paint is getting pretty rough and there is a pin hole in the exhaust manifold that needs to be fixed, and i thought as long as I was going that far I might check bearing clearances while I do prep work on the...

A good job done with the DC

A short video of the DC earning its keep a couple of weeks ago. It augered 24000 bushels of corn over about a week, it just sits there and purrs along all day long. It was in the 20's and 30's then, they are talking -12 most nights this week, glad the job is done! Mike

    New uses for old parts

Several years ago my sons built a free standing vice out of an old machine stand, a plate that had been used in a hitch for a tractor i'd restored for a friend and a cheap Harbor Freight vice. I wonderd how useful it would be, turns out it is handier than a pocket on a shirt, it makes a great...
