    Zetor Tractor

Looking for an opinion on Zetor tractors. While all opinions have value, would prefer to hear from someone with experience with this type of tractor.

    Hydraulic Filter

The 3-point arms quit lifting on my tractor two weeks ago. After several hours of troubleshooting in my "spare time", I believe I finally discovered that the problem is simply a bad hydraulic filter. Once I removed the filter everything began to work again. Seems simple enough, except I...

    Employment History

Anyone have any recommendation or experience with employment history checks? Looking for a reputable company to go back about 20 years. Funny how things you thought you'd never forget get fuzzy with time!

    3-point Adapter for Skid loader

Anybody here use a 3-point adapter on a skid loader? I have a 3-point post pounder that I"d like to use on the skid loader. I don"t know if it's the right choice. Any feedback?

    Tractor Manual Concerns

Hate to bring this up knowing how some of you are about spelling, but... I know these manuals are probably being printed at someone"s house, but you would think they"d at least try to spell the name of the tractor correctly on the cover! Makes me question the quality of the information.

    Skid Loader Attachment

I"m not familiar with the electrical connections on skid loaders. Looking at a Bobcat attachment with, I think, a 12 pin connector. My skid loader connector only has four pins. Obviously they won"t connect as is, but can they be adapted to work together?

    New Idea Hay Rake

I know there are hay rake rebuilders on here, so this should be an easy question. I need a chain for what I believe to be a New Idea hay rake. It"s the type with steel wheels and the sliding gears to change the direction of the rake action. Is this the flat type chain and does anyone know...

    Daihatsu Mini Truck

Got a Daihatsu mini truck that is one of the most useful tools on the farm. Recently it has been running poorly in anything but first gear. Shift to second or third and it bogs down and dies. It also gets hard to get started again. Let it sit awhile and everything works fine until it gets...

    Hay Rake Drive Chain

Pulled an old hay rake out woods this week. Everything seems to work except that it"s missing the drive chain. From what I can tell, I need about 4 feet of chain. I"ve only been able to find chain in 10 foot rolls. Anyone know where I can buy implement chain by the foot?

    Briggs Starter

I have an older mower with a 12 HP Briggs and Stratton engine. The electric starter turns the engine, but kicks out just as it"s about to start. Any ideas?

    Hydraulic Opinion

On our Deutz 4006, which is a "71 model, the hydraulics have been progressively getting weaker. Last summer, after about an hour of use it wouldn"t pick up the three-point mounted sprayer unless allowed to cool. I"m thinking it"s hydraulic pump rebuild time. Before I get into that, is there...

    'Puter Pains

My computer is ailing. MS Security Essentials keeps identifying a threat, but it isn"t going away. About every 30 seconds it pops up another "clean computer" warning. Also, when I try to go somewhere from Google, I get re-directed. I"m sure someone on here knows the cure.

    Post Pounder

I"m in need of a post pounder. Years ago a fellow grower loaned us a 3-point Shaver with manual leveling and it worked wonderfully. I have a skidsteer available now, so I was thinking that might be the better way to go. Any suggestions or recommendations from past experiences?

I know there"s several PA residents on here. Anyone going to the Kempton auction on Saturday? As always, I have to work that weekend. Really hate to miss that one!

    OT: Union Conclusion

After all the responses, I feel I owe an update. (Sorry guys, I was having a bad day and just needed to vent! Didn"t expect it to go anywhere!) Here goes: 1)I am not hostile toward unions, I just don"t believe in them. But have found most unions are hostile to criticism. That point was well...

    OT Rant: Unions!

A new man comes on the job; before he even knows the job he starts whining that he doesn"t get treated like the oldtimers. He becomes a union member and Union (actually Association) tells boss "treat him like the oldtimers." Boss busts him for constantly not following standard procedures...

    Wheel Bearing Applications

I pulled apart the shaft on the Roof mower and found that one of the bearing races is cracked. The bearing number is BCA B-67. I know I saw a site where you put in the bearing number and it would come back with what vehicle uses that bearing. Does anyone know of such a site or chart? Thought...

    Sickle Mower Question

I have no sickle mower experience, but have one way back in the barn. I need to thin out the grapevines to improve air flow in the vineyard and was wondering if a sickle mower works, or can be made to work, in a vertical position. It would sure save a lot of time...

    Whatzit?

Found this while sorting through Dad's lifetime of collections. It's about 18" long and the material appears to be like stove gasket. The ends thread off and are curved like they would be intended to fit inside pvc pipe. I'm thinking it's greenhouse-related. Does anybody know?

    OT Dakotas

I just returned from a trip to the eastern Dakotas. While there I couldn't stand up straight the whole time. Finally realized that a lifetime of working the hills here in PA must have made one leg longer than the other to keep me even. All that flat land out there scares me! Good to back...
