It's been awhile since I've posted, but I ran across a 1964 non Comfort King 730 gas dual range. I've been looking for a cheap chore tractor to use in the winter and for the Tedder and V Rake. It looks to be in really good shape. All original with clam shell fenders. I can't find much about this...

    IH #82 Combine pros/cons

I have the opportunity to buy a IH #82 combine. It looks to be in really good shape. Still has almost all the decals and stickers. Hasn't been used for several years and I have no experience with ih pull type combines. What are the pros/cons and things to look for. The guy is asking $975 for it...

    930 and plow pictures

Finally got to try out the new 5x14 A-series plow behind the 930 yesterday. Worked Flawlessly!!! I pulled in High range 1st gear and rolled right along at 6-8 inches deep. Soil is pretty sandy, so I couldn't even tell the plow was behind me! Ha!! Got to teach my 14 year old daughter to plow too...

    930 diesel 6speed foot clutch?

Hey guys. Just have a quick question. I'm looking at a 930 diesel. He says that it's a 1966 with a 6 speed but has a foot clutch. Is that possible. I thought all 6 speeds were hand clutches and all 8 speeds were foot clutches. Thanks, Dan

    New planting team (pics)

Just got this cyclo 400 planter home yesterday. Thanks Steve (casecollector) for a great deal on a really nice planter! Plan on using the 656 gas since the wheels are spaced correctly. Think I'll have enough power to pull it? Have only used 4 row wide planter before and they aren't hard to pull...

930 plowing- will it ever dry out?!!

Finally got a chance to try the 930 on the plow yesterday. Tried to plow a little field that hasn't been worked in almost 15 years! The beast did really well on top of the hills. Guess what happened at the bottom???? Yep, buried it! Was able to get out once I unhooked, but what a pain in the...

    IH Cyclo Planter- good?

Saw this planter for sale on my way home today. Wants $1500 for it. Seems pretty high for what I saw! Fertilizer boxes are junk and all rusted. Both marker arms are missing disks. Last used it 3 years ago to plant pumpkins. I don't know anything about these planters. Read some stuff in the...

    706 diesel leaky injector

I have a 706 diesel that is leaking raw diesel out of the front injector closest to radiator. Local dealer told me about $4000 to fix it. Included adjusting valves and all new injectors. that seems way expensive! the tractor isn't worth much more than that. Any thoughts? I'm sure it doesn't pay...

    930 coolant leaking from overflow

Well it finally got nice enough here to get the 930 out and run it for a while. I took her for about a 10 mile road trip and then hooked up to the 12 foot JD disk and worked up the two gardens. I've only had the tractor for about a month now and when I got it it was about a half gallon low on...

    Milky hydraulic fluid

Well, I got the full service done on the 930 this weekend, finally. Last thing in yesterday was the new fuel gauge (thanks external_link)! My question is this: When I drained all the hydraulic fluid, I pulled all three plugs and only got 9 gallons out, real milky. I left them drip all night...

    Hydraulic dipstick and Western Hitch

Hey Guys, On the hydraulic dipstick the little full/add indicator is halfway between the 1 and the 6! This doesn't seem correct. I talked to John in NY and he said that it should be up by the 1. The indicator seems pretty solid in that position, I can't slide it with my fingers. I'm worried that...

    930 Powersteering Level?

Wondering if anyone can tell me how much fluid is supposed to be in the Powersteering reservoir on my 930? Doing a full service and opened the cap and no dipstick! Measured it with a ruler and there is about 1 1/4 inches of fluid. I'm guessing that is low and probably the reason it squeals when...
