i have a 1985 ford with the 6.9 diesel. the fuel line from the filter housing to the injection pump is cracked. i'm going to replace the line with either s/s hose or metal tube with jic fittings, to get rid of the rubber olives on the fuel line. i took the line off, but neglected to remove the adapter on the pump inlet. the truck is a few hours away, and i'd like to gather some parts tomorrow. does anyone know the thread size of the adapter where it screws into the pump? i'm assuming it's straight threads with a o ring, but could be wrong. thanks for the help

The threads in the pump itself are 1/2"-20 TPI (ORB-5).

Some years used a straight brass adapter to the compression/rubber olive fitting and some used a straight steel adapter to pipe thread, then a brass elbow with the olive compression fitting. I don't remember the years, though, sorry.

It's a 5/16" O-ring fitting that has 1/2-20 thread. I think all 6.9's had the straight fitting on the pump and 7.3's had the elbow. I guess you can add a 90 elbow if you are making a new line.
