Another old mower parts question

I'm trying to find the spring for the pivot bolt on my A-16 mower. The manual says it is a 4036 TM, the old style parts numbering system. Can anyone tell me if this crosses to a modern I-H part number, and if so what part number? Thanks, Brian

My book says that part (5 coils long) was only used in 1940. 1941 and beyond used M42232 (2-1/2 coils long). I don't see any difference on the adjoining parts that would keep you from using the shorter spring. I tried that number on Messicks site and didn't get a hit. Parts Depot shows several on hand.

Thanks, Jim. What parts depot are you talking about? I tried https://www.mycnhistore.com/us/en/caseih/cn/spring/p/M42232 but it says it is unavailable. What parts depot showed that several were available? Thanks.

"Parts Depot" does gathering and redistribution of obsolete parts from and to dealers. You can think of them as a wholesaler of old stock. You need to go to a dealer that works with them. They started with IH dealers and most CaseIH dealers participate. You can go straight to their web site (https://www.depotparts.com/) to check the inventory. But you have to go to a dealer for pricing and to get the part.

Update: My local C-IH dealer (Bane-Welker) ordered it from them. Only $9.80 plus shipping! Thanks again. Brian
