I hauled home a 1978 Power King 2418 from my parent's place and am looking forward to putting it to work. Dad rebuilt the K361 engine after it digested a valve and it is now running good. I read somewhere that overheating was a real killer of these engines and that the proper way to ensure good cooling is to run it at full engine speed. (And of course keeping the fins clean.) Is this correct? I don't plan on using PTO-driven equipment so engine speed isn't critical for what I'm doing. Just want to do what I can to ensure a long life. Thanks.
