Poor connection

yes I yanked on the battery and finally was able to get a ground on the booster cable attached to the frame I have new battery terminals I the only burnt wires were on the ignition switch. i tried later to crank it no go I took off the terminal and readjusted in on the end of the negative cable still nothing I guess it didn't feel.like working. here is a picture of the negative end of the battery.and it's been wore down some
That battery post is terribly turned/it's not making contact. They make battery terminal post cleaners that clean the post and cable loop connector, get one. At least once a year take the cables loose and clean them till they are shiney. It's lead I believe. When they turn that dark grey it's corroded over preventing good contact and electrical current flow

Just to think about it seems I've had trouble with these for awhile always having to readjust them for it to crank.. I have to take the positive cable because I'd I don't the battery needed jumping 6

I got one those doodads I try to clean post with may need to get a new since it doesn't do a very good job. what is a cable loop connector. the post is smaller now and terminals can't tighten enough on the post.

The cable loop is just another name for the terminal end. I have ever heard it called that but there are a lot of different terms for some things, some are more confusing than others. Instead of “turned” I think he is either saying burnt or tarnished. Never know some of these guys use the “speech to word” feature on their phone or computer and never go back and edit it to say the correct thing, maybe I am wrong.

From your reply 79. The wires burned all the way between the two ends where they were connected, inside the loom. That will have to be fixed. Unless you can show otherwise. I am asking you to look at the other small wires off the terminal as described in my reply 77. Many automotive/tractor electrical systems have “fusible” links that are essentially a fuse for the system if there is a big short. The fusible link is a short piece of smaller wire meant to burn off first before your machine starts on fire.
I may just offer to talk to you on the phone. Keep an eye out on your PM letter/envelope icon at the top. I may send you a message asking for your number. Please don’t post it here on the open web.

yes talking in person would really help. just have set up a time when is convenient for you. talking on makes too many assumptions . thanks

terminal end
Do you mean with the shims Jim suggested, Very likely, take the nut off and pull the bolt out and spread it open as needed.

You might have quite a puzzle there without the wiring diagram. Is there no way you can swing buying the $125 manual to download?
