Just how much friction is needed to keep the throttle lever from slipping. I have just replaced the round friction disc with a new piece of soft rubber and clamped up the throttle lever spring, it can not be clamed up any further. Without the governor rod or compensating spring etc attached...

Thinking of replacing the current throttle lever friction disc which appears to be rubber and not holding that well even with the spring clamped up tight. Is the cork anything special as I was looking at making one from a cork floor tile. I believe the cork should be about 5mm thick??? Any...

    More TEA Governor Question's

Ok so after much effort to get the governor working as it should with no joy. I have resorted to replacing with new. A few questions before I close her all up. Folks I have just read the manual and watched a video on removing the timing cover to gain access to the govener weights etc. The video shows that behind the timing cover oil seal that there is an oil slinger and then 2 brass shims. The manual makes no mention of brass shims. Have any of you...

    TEA20 Govenor operation

Folks Since putting my little fergy back together the govenor as far as I can tell is not doing the job of compensating when the engine is put under load as in when negotiating a step climb. It is the only mechanical part I did not replace or renew. I have now ordered a new govenor cup and...

    Tea20 Governor plunger rod spring.

Hi Clarification please, in my manual it states that governor springs fitted to Tea20 were of 15 coils. I have not come across any on any Tea20. They all seem to be fitted with the 26 coil spring. What was the reason behind the two different springs??

    TEA20 steering drop arm bushes

Have removed drop arm seals in preparation of replacing with new ones to fix oil leak, however with seal removed I now notice that drop arms look a little sloppy in their bushes. My question is how much tolerance is acceptable or how much play in bush will negate new seals doing their job. Wish...

Broken sump cover bolt Tea20 standard motor.

Thinking I would stop a minor leak from my sump cover I tightened the daylight out of the sump cover bolt ( the longer front bolt ) and well no surprises it has snapped off. I am sure the remains of the bolt is flush if not slightly below the hole, will know for sure once I drop the sump...

Tea20 oil leak from front of sump cover.

I have an oil leak from the front left hand side of my sump cover. It appears to be running from the left front left hand sump bolt. Is this possible, I did not use any casket cement on the sump gasket but was meticulous in cleaning the surfaces. I am 100% sure it is not from the timing cover...
