    Need help finding old post

I'm trying to find an old post by Ohio 88 about adding electric power steering to his tractor. Posted around December 2021. I tried the search box, put in super 88 electric power steering and Ohio88 in member box and it comes up nothing found. How do I find it?? Thanks, Chris

    1550 Power Beyond

Finally got power beyond hooked up and working but having 3pt issues. It took a couple of minutes to get hydraulics after starting, loader worked okay but 3 point wouldn’t raise. I topped off reservoir and lift arms finally came up but won’t drop when I push the lever ahead. They usually settle...

    super88 hydraulics

I posted earlier about mounting a Woods L306 belly mower on my super 88. I got it on and it was set up with a short one way cylinder. The right side was set up for 2 way so I tried to use the left side for the one way, I was told to add a hose from the return line if it was set up for 2 way to...

    Woods belly mount mower

I'm putting a belly mower on my super88. It looks like the drawbar assembly will interfere with the drive belt and needs to come off. Is this correct? Pictures of mounting brackets would help. I went to Woods website but couldn't find any info on the belly mowers. Thanks, Chris

    1550 and loader

I finally got the loader on the 1550 and kinda working. When I first got it on everything seemed to work as it should using the tractor remotes, outside lever raises the loader and inside lever curls the bucket. Now whenever I raise or lower the loader the bucket curls at the same time using the...

Woods belly mower on a super88

I picked up a Woods L306 belly mower to put on my super88 so I have an excuse to run it. It has a short 1 way cylinder to raise and lower it. Operators manual say I need a momentary restrictor to use a 1 way cylinder(painted yellow). Any ideas where I can find one or is there a way to plumb...

    John Deere X300 no compression

I was given this mower and they said the motor gave out. It is a Kawasaki 18 horse V twin, it has fire and turns over too easy, no compression on either cylinder. I guess the next step is to take the valve covers off and see if anything moves when cranked over. Are there any know issues with...

Super 55, 550 steering unit repair

Anyone ever had a steering unit apart? A friend has a super 55 and 2 550's and he said they all need the steering units rebuilt. Just wondering how tricky of a job it is and any special tools needed? Thanks, Chris

    Pedal tilt extension

Threw this together this morning, the older I get the harder it is to get my foot in there to push the pedal. Much easier to use, too cold to paint it now.

    Fuel guage

Sending units were bad in my Oliver 1850 and 1550. I ordered a new one from an Oliver parts website, it was $94 and change with shipping. I looked on Amazon and saw one that looked almost identical for $20 so I ordered it and it came today. I put it in and it works fine. We’ll see if it lasts as...

    I phone camera problems

This is tractor related because I use my phone camera when working on tractors. My I phone SE, the screen is dark when I try to take a picture, it still takes the picture but I can't see what I'm taking a picture of. Did I bump something by mistake causing this or is my phone dying? Everything...

Oliver 1550 won't run right. out of things to try

Back story, I have 2 gas 1550's, a narrow front that I got first, I'll call it number 1 and another 1550 with a wide front that I call number 2. Number one runs like a swiss watch, idles under 500 rpm and goes wide open with no stumbling. Number 2 sat for 8 or 10 years before I got it. Got it...

Handy work on a cold day

I have/had a plastic leg bucket fastened to the pallet rack for 20 years but it broke apart last week. I kept air chucks, tire guages etc in it by the air hose reel. Decided to use a chunk of metal I’ve been saving for 15 years to make a replacement. Metal came from an old floating cutter bar...

    Oliver 1850 steering orbit motor

The old Saginaw steering unit is nearing it's last days. A long time ago I read somewhere that a guy took the steering motor from a MF 510 and put it in his Oliver tractor. I have a MF 550 setting here that needs to go to scrap, wondering if if would work in my 1850. If I remember correctly, the...

    Another bandsaw question

I have an older Sears bandsaw/sander that uses 1/4 inch wide blades. Sometimes I cut large pieces of wood and am wondering if I could use a wider blade, 3/8 or 1/2 inch? The marker for tightening the blade register up to a 1/2 inch blade, the drive wheels are about a inch wide.

    Hydraulic leak fixed

Got the other end of the line loose and blew it out, cleaned the line up and sprayed the brake cleaner and brazed it. Lines were a bear to get hooked back up but finally got them. Filled with oil and started it up and no leaks yet. Glad that’s done before it turns cold again!!

    Hydraulic leak

Thought I’d get more feedback here than from the Oliver page. My 1850 is leaving a trail so I can find my way home when plowing snow and a puddle when parked. I washed it today and finally found a pin hole in the metal line going to the front of the tractor. It’s in the bottom line of 2 that run...
